So while I already know what my second saber is going to be for my single/duel wielding style,

I do plan to invest in making a double bladed one.

So far the Bastion really strikes the appealing look that I am looking for but does anyone know how staff coupling works exactly? Does the staff coupler work with any light saber or is there only selected lightsabers that is capable for double bladed lightsabers?

I want to be sure in case I decide on a different design in the future.

Also, I am planning to do yellow colored (maybe also with white but let's see).

All SF lightsabers can use a coupler, there are just a few that have an angled shroud on the back end that require the long coupler.

What do you mean by angled shroud? Sorry for my bad knowledge of saber terminology...also, I never seen the long coupler under the accessories section. Do you have a link to it?

Hi Froboy696,

There are Sabers which have an "Angled Shroud", this is a decorative piece of metal that extends over the pommel (end cap) of the hilt handle. I have included a pic to illustrate:

The Acolyte, The Disciple and the Sinister Prophecy have Angled Shrouds.

The green line in the pic shows how a Saber without a shroud looks like, flat (similar to the end of a flashlight body).
The red line shows the shape of the "Angled Shroud" this extends over the pommel.
The yellow arrow shows the pommel (end cap). This can be unscrewed and removed to insert a "Staff Coupler" or "Spear Extension".

Because the "Angled Shroud" sticks out you need to use a "Long Staff Coupler". This can be ordered on SaberForge's website in the Accessories section. This link will take you to the Staff Coupler page on SaberForge's site which is shown below.

Staff Coupler Page

Use the drop down box on the right to choose "Long Staff Coupler" as highlighted in the pic below:

You also need to mention in the Order Comments box which two Sabers you are planning to connect so SF can send the correct version.

I hope this is of help,

For Tyeth

It actually does thank you.

Most likely I am going with the Bastion pair given that it's the most appealing to me as of now.

And from what it sounds like, I am more than likely going to get the right coupler no matter what as long as I let them know.

Hey if I order two of the same lightsaber, will it take longer to make?

I want to say no. Even if it did, I don't think it'd be noticeable, because we're waiting months for a saber. The biggest problem is the backlog- not the ability to make one.
The above post may be subject to editing. A lot of editing.

Does anyone have any examples of a really unique or interesting double-bladed set such as a pair of juggernauts, monarchs, etc? I am not saying those would be very functional but might be cool.

I have wondered about getting a pair of epochs to put together. I would like to see that.

Never saw someone with a Monarch Staff. That thing would cost a few body parts hehe, and wouldn't be very comfortable to wield that's for sure. Pretty much the same thing goes for Juggernauts.

What sized blades do you use? I hear that even the 32 inch sized blades made for this type of saber can still cause some difficulties?

Fb96 I've got 32" blades for this staff set-up. Balance is good, the Disciple and Consular are similar in length, and I stand @ 6'. I do get some flutter or vibration that runs the lenght of the staff when striking targets. Definitely noticeable but not a game changer. 26" blades would be a little more ridgid I'd imagine. Also have a 37" blade that works great in a single blade staff configuration.
