I know this may be a very unpopular idea but i would love to see a competition similar to GamesWorkshops golden demon awards but for custom lightsabers.

It would provide lots of smiths a chance to show off and do some of their best work for recognition and push the innovation in this hobbie.

I know not everyone gets along but if its blind judging something like this helps spawn new ideas and give credit where its due.

Lol it may not even be possible with the big D in control of things now.

What do you all think?

I would keep it out of the company stream and instead focus on the smith/installer. I get that some smiths are 100% of a company but i wouldn't want to exclude the little guys and non professionals.

Even in bigger companies i could see multiple smiths puting up entries. It would be a great "resume builder" within the hobbie/industry and get some smaller names alot of exposure.

You could have categories like:
"Best of show"
Top Milled design
Top Casted
Top Sink tube
PvC
3d Printed
Electronics
Install
Overall Design

And make a bonding event / trade show out of it for the hobbie.

Posts: 251 Thank you received: 90	Hmm, I don't think so, as you'd want to leave as much space as possible for the recipient's name, award category, and year of presentation. Though perhaps have the Alliance Phoenix symbol etched in on one side and the Imperial symbol on the other. That would probably be hard to mock up, you could just do them in black.
