My 5 year old is Star Wars mad and driving me nuts running around the house swinging an imaginary saber and making joom-joom! noises. So, in the absence of the real thing - which is just as well as all household members would be missing limbs in short order - a Saberforge saber just has to be obtained for the little guys upcoming birthday.

I'm looking for any advice with regards to hilts that are lightweight and a good size for a childs hands, maybe something similar to Yoda's hilt from the prequel movies?

I will ofc also want an extra-tough blade, maybe the V4 Infinity and a good soundboard + 12w LED.

Open to suggestions. I'll also be importing to the UK. Anyone had any experience with this with regards to getting nobbled for excessive import duty + VAT etc?

Thanks in advance.

I would go for an apprentice saber, probably the consular because it's not sharp and a shoto blade (26') so it's not too long for him too hold, then of course his favorite color and sound
Sabers:
-Prodigal Son (Champ 12w Green)
-Consular Staff (12w Yellow {Ordering Soon})
-Sorcerer Staff (12w Deep Blue During Standard-Release)

I think the Sorcerer is the only hilt shorter than the Consular, but you have 6 claws to deal with. I suppose you could remove them while she is young, and add them back when she is a little bigger.
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....

i recently bought my 5yo little brother a consular warrior 12W and he loves it, 26" blade is great for him swinging :) It's also robust enough, considering the bashing it gets at the hands of a 5yo (who i gotta admit, i think is leaning to the dark side)
As for UK customs, im over in Northern Ireland and my sabers all come through London, most ive ever had to pay customs wise (with Parcelforce) has been £15
hope this helps!

Others have said it and I have to agree about the consular. I love mine and recommend the consular enough. Hilt is perfectly sized, very comfortable, and works with either a full size or shorter blade well in terms of looks and balance. Should be exactly what youre looking for.
My current 6 sabers:

Warrior Consular
Warrior Venom
Warrior Epoch (x2)
Warrior Sinister
Champion Venemous Fury
