I want to get the Archon with the goal of making a staff out of it, but the end of the hilt being pointed makes me wonder if it can be made into a staff. Are the ends of the hilts removable to make the staff (and if so is that all hilts)? I have an Epoch coming eventually and I want to make a staff out of the Epoch and another hilt, so basically I'd like to know if this works (and if so does it work with any saber (providing the threads match)?

Actually, from what it looks like to me, the Archon's pommel is merely pointed, not slanted in any way. I believe you just screw off the pommels and attach the coupler specific to the saber's threads.

Staff couplers replace the pommel, and it seems that everything's being standardized around the ASP threading.
Archon shouldn't have any issue, and since there's no slanted shroud by the pommel, you've got your choice of long or short coupler. |

I saw someone that had a customized (think it was weathered and shattered) archon staff made on the FB page. The pommel is definitely removable, and seems to be the same standard threads as my other SF sabers, so I'm sure it fits the coupler just fine. From owning this hilt, the one thing I would mention is that it's considerably longer than most others, so in a staff setup you'd probably want 26" blades instead of the 32" blades. Even with the 26s, it's still going to be well over 6ft long in a staff setup.
