I've heard the acolyte and disciple crack sometimes, is this common with those sabers? I've also heard it's due to dueling with a heavy blade vs mid blade, and since this is my first saber I wanna make sure I take the right precautions so it holds up

Are you referring to the blade or the hilt itself? If it's the blade, then that must've been some serious whamming with it. SF's V4 Infinity Edge blades are pretty tough, and people including Saberforge itself and Shameem (or DarthMario95 here) have done some hardcore tests. Shameem slammed his blade (in a thin neck saber) against a tree multiple times, and it was only scuffed lightly. As for the Acolyte hilt I can't talk. Might be a simple matter of some factory fault. The hilts are supposed to be pretty tough.

^^this exactly. I've seen several test vids on youtube and the V4 blade can take a pretty major beating and come out with just a few scuffs. I have 2 ultrasaber hilts and i'm going to order two 24" V4 blades for them (the goal is to duel wield as a grey jedi OR use one in my off hand with my Venomous Fury in my main hand).
As for the Acolyte hilt, i have a friend with one (we duel a lot with my ultrasabers and his acolyte) and it seems like the hilt could take a hit from a tank and just have a minor scratch.

Doooooood! Gray Jedi for the win! I'm actually working on some major Jar'Kai training to use 32" blades in both hands. I've already got an Ultrasabers Apprentice, so that'll be one of my two sabers when I buy an Oracle (at least until I save up for another Saberforge).
As for hilt cracking, that's usually a factory fluke on the rare occurences when that happens. I'd think it'd be covered under the warranty, but I can't remember. Generally as we've agreed, SaberForge's sabers (hilt and blade alike) can take some serious punishment.

Blade cracks are uncommon however as you've written, 'sometimes' it may happen where the plausible scenarios may include, but not limited to:
1. Over-tightening (as Dav Yeager wrote)
2. Under-tightening. Depending on the blade holder/emitter accommodating the seated blade. When the retention screw 'just' makes contact and holds it preventing slide-out once inverted, 'sometimes' with generous wiggle-room during swings and impact, slight blade flex may have a vibration effect and cause knocking against the fork prongs. Combined with blade/blade contact, impact points may indirectly occur at weaker sections.
3. When inserted blade is not completely seated inside the emitter against the LED heat-sink. When inserting the blade, if it just drops in, ensure it in as far as it goes. The sound heard (almost like a click) when contacting the heat-sink will confirm this.
If there is a little resistance. Ensure the retention screw is not obstructing the passage way disabling the easy blade insertion. If the set screw is clear, often a twisting motion (drill-like) will ensure blade is seated well.
4. Blades are made in large batches. It's not uncommon for a 'dud' to occur.
This is extremely rare though.
These shouldn't deter you. The Infinity v4 has gone through rigorous testing to ensure durability and duel-ability. Proceeding with confidence is an obvious decision. You are also protected by SF's warranty.
During a duel with another Vendors Blade it's more common for the competitors blades to break. As referenced by Eddlyss64 and Rotundchap, the Test Videos follow. This may be for your interest and equally so for other Forum Members & Guests also.
I've read on another Thread of yours that you've edged closer to a decision.
Congratulations with your (soon to be realised) purchase.
