Happy Star Wars Day everyone!

As you may know, the Sword Buyer's Guide (SBG) is a website dedicated to helping people around the world learn more about swords in the modern world. Started in 2005 by Paul Southren, it has operated in many different capacities since - product reviews, education about sword construction and maintenance, hosting a popular community forum, and operating a storefront. I have been involved with SBG since 2007 as a writer, reviewer, and doing quality control for the SBG Store.

This month we have a special treat - an interview with Saberforge owner Phillip Isherwood! You can find the interview at the link below:

Phil Isherwood Interview

I've also done a special review of my first (and, so far, only) lightsaber - a Saberforge Champion Disciple! The review can be found here:

Champion Disciple Review

Thanks for looking, and May the 4th be with you!

Great review, very professional. I appreciate that you went with a Disciple which is, arguably, the best place to start out with a SF hilt. I feel that owning an apprentice hilt establishes accurate baseline expectations for the rest of the SF collection.

The interview was a bit brief but Phil is a busy guy so *shrugs*.

Love the review! Especially in that you reviewed the saber that I just purchased a few weeks ago! It will be my first SF saber as well. Anticipation levels have only risen higher!
There is no Light Side, nor Dark Side. There is only the Force. That being said... don't be a jerk.

Thanks! I try to make all my reviews so professional. Yes, Phillip is a busy guy - which is why we were so fortunate that he could make the time for us! I was very impressed with his professionalism and dedication.

Thank you! I have been reviewing swords for almost ten years, so I've got experience - this was my first lightsaber review but I am almost certain it won't be my last.

I think you're going to love it - it's worth the wait!

Master Dain, a well versed and articulated Review of your Disciple, very comprehensive and informative equally for the New Owners, Existing Owners and 'Soon-to-be' Owners of Lightsabers. Acknowledged that the link has been included, similarly to your initial apprehension with Posting your Steel Collection in Other Sabers Gallery Section, with applause to your Review I encourage you to transplant it to the Disciple Review Section to stamp your presence amongst the other Disciple Owners. Great Delivery.

Very nice interview with Phil, and review of that Disciple. Anyone doing research on what company they want to go with would do well to read both of those. Well done!
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....

Thank you OvrcAHst, that means a lot coming from you. I will definitely cross-post my lightsaber review to that section as you suggested.

Thank you Brax! I am hopeful that people will feel comfortable sharing the review and interview on social media - we all love Saberforge, and positive publicity is a very good thing. Nothing would make me happier than to see this floating around Facebook a few months from now, still generating interest and positive press.

Hi Master Dain,

Having a Disciple myself I was drawn more to your review than the Interview, and I was very impressed. Any potential buyer/investor in one of SaberForge's hilts would benefit greatly from reading your work. The way you laid the information out and the descriptions of how it felt and looked were brilliant. Unless you have held a Saber like ours it is hard to convey to someone what it is really like but you have done a good job.

Thank you for sharing the review (and the heads up) with us, and I hope your collection of Sabers grows,

For Tyeth

Thanks man! I would like to get involved in doing more reviews, sadly finances will keep me from doing too many too quickly. I'll be lucky if I can do one a year (children are very expensive!) unless I can trade swords for them with people here on the forum. Here's hoping!
