Hello Everyone! I want to start out by saying, I love my Consular. It's so nice looking, it has a great feel, it actually looks like a lightsaber (unlike SOME initiates). However, I would like to make note of some issues I had with this saber.

#1: Hilt is Significantly smaller than other sabers.
I'm used to swinging around unmentionable sabers and Master Replicas, which are pretty chunky in comparison. This isn't a HUGE problem (get it, because I'm talking about hilt sizes), but it seems more fitting for one handed combat. Sometimes I find myself using both hands and my left is frantically trying to find room around the covertech wheel. The thickness it perfect though!

#2: Battery Holder issue.
The Consular Initiate takes 3 AAA batteries. First of all, I'd like to say thank you for not using special 3.7v batteries that you can only buy online. This is incredibly convenient. However, my first sparring session my friend and I weren't sparring too hard and the Yellow (the blade color) began flickering and turning greenish. My second sparring session (May 4th Cats in Space in Sacramento) this happened again, even with reinforced Velcro. I personally believe that the way the battery holder is designed doesn't keep the AAAs in place without wobbling them around. Please, I would love to fix this!

#3: Battle Ready Blades?
I was told that there was only one type of blade for Saberforge. I thought, 'AWESOME, less hassle!'
When I got it I was INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED with how bright the blade was ESPECIALLY for being so thick and ready for battle. However, and unfortunately, on May 4th I brought my saber with me and was dueling a new friend I made. This is probably mostly his fault because he was a heavy hitter, but the cap (which I guess is screwed on and glued or something?) unscrewed and the reflective film came flying out. I was able to retrieve the film, I even got it back into the blade, but now I have to make another cap.

So this was my review, love you guys, please take these into consideration :)

A couple things:

1. i am super happy to see a new consular come out, as im in the build queue for one now.

2. When you get a new tip you might want to glue it in. Im planning on using impact tough gorilla glue on mine. I use it for arrow head inserts and its unbelievably tough. Just a small dab should be enough.

3. You can take the wheel off if you want to use it "hand and a half". Thats what i plan to do with mine when it gets here. If you like it though its probably best to leave it.

4. Pictures? :D

The blade should be covered under SF Warranty; drop them an email.

I'm sorry, but I've got a couple nitpicks here. I'm hoping it'll be taken as information.
-There are no unmetionable sabers on this forum that I know of. Come on, you can tell us! It was Ultrasabers, wasn't it?
-You don't have an Initiate saber. From the information you've provided, you have a Warrior Tier Consular, which is one of the Apprentice level sabers. Initiate is a tier, and it's when you get an empty hilt.
-Pictures?
Sorry.

Good info Ryan. I think it will help many of the newer members. It is good to know that other company's sabers are allowed to be talked about.

Talked about, yes. Advertised for, no. :P We're adults. They exist. It's a thing in the industry. Long as they don't stray into "Hey buy this brand instead of identical stuff SF offers", you should be fine. Mods are polite when they clean up anyway.
