Hello Everyone! I want to start out by saying, I love my Consular. It's so nice looking, it has a great feel, it actually looks like a lightsaber (unlike SOME initiates). However, I would like to make note of some issues I had with this saber.
#1: Hilt is Significantly smaller than other sabers.
I'm used to swinging around unmentionable sabers and Master Replicas, which are pretty chunky in comparison. This isn't a HUGE problem (get it, because I'm talking about hilt sizes), but it seems more fitting for one handed combat. Sometimes I find myself using both hands and my left is frantically trying to find room around the covertech wheel. The thickness it perfect though!
#2: Battery Holder issue.
The Consular Initiate takes 3 AAA batteries. First of all, I'd like to say thank you for not using special 3.7v batteries that you can only buy online. This is incredibly convenient. However, my first sparring session my friend and I weren't sparring too hard and the Yellow (the blade color) began flickering and turning greenish. My second sparring session (May 4th Cats in Space in Sacramento) this happened again, even with reinforced Velcro. I personally believe that the way the battery holder is designed doesn't keep the AAAs in place without wobbling them around. Please, I would love to fix this!
#3: Battle Ready Blades?
I was told that there was only one type of blade for Saberforge. I thought, 'AWESOME, less hassle!'
When I got it I was INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED with how bright the blade was ESPECIALLY for being so thick and ready for battle. However, and unfortunately, on May 4th I brought my saber with me and was dueling a new friend I made. This is probably mostly his fault because he was a heavy hitter, but the cap (which I guess is screwed on and glued or something?) unscrewed and the reflective film came flying out. I was able to retrieve the film, I even got it back into the blade, but now I have to make another cap.
So this was my review, love you guys, please take these into consideration
