Hello Saber Forge and all who Inhabit it!
I am a Noob at SaberForge.com, and I was wondering if the Desciple (The Lightsaber I am Planning On Buying) has a detachable blade. I wanted to show someone at my school, but I can't fit my whole lightsaber in my bag! So I thought if I could detach the blade, maybe I could fit it in my bag? So please help me!

Hello derp I too own a disciple and yes the blade comes out in fact when you first get your saber it will have a blade plug in it and the blade will be separate it has a little screw that you will use to change them back and forth they even send you the Allen wrench that fits said screw

Hello DerpTrain, Kered,

To help further Kered's explanation here is a picture of the screws he mentions. This is a Disciple emitter/blade holder.

You need to loosen (BUT DO NOT REMOVE FULLY!) the screw circled in RED. The blade plug can then slide out. Insert the blade into the saber and tighten the screw back up.
BEWARE! DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE SCREW finger tight is enough!

I hope this helps and thank you to Kered for his contribution.
Enjoy your Disiple when you get it,

For Tyeth

P.S. Both Kered and I, own Disciples!

One more thing. Do we keep the screw circled in red unscrewed if we keep the hilt without a blade? Or can we screw it back in and just carry around the hilt

Just one more thing. If I detach the blade, can I screw the screw back in? Because I don't want to walk around school with a hilt that has an unscrewed bolt on it.

The Video Tutorial just Posted by Kered will prove invaluable to you.
If you plan on taking your Hilt to School, entirely up to you but try to keep parts intact, especially small ones like the Retention set screws. My suggestions to you if displaying without blade:
  • Keep the Blade Plug/Emitter Plug secured into the end of your Hilt to prevent anyone from 'accidentally' staring down the barrel and switching it on.
  • This will also retain set screws attached and with Hilt plugged will discourage any foreign matter like dust, dirt, sand (or any other loose matter from inside your Bag) from falling into the end and affecting the lens & LED.
*you can simply screw it back in as you mentioned however as it's unknown what kind of exertion or vibrations may occur as it bounces around in your bag, best not to risk-it for the biscuit. :)
