Greetings All,

So after 4 months of waiting I finally got my blade

Disciple Champion Edition
Hilt Finish Weathered
Grip Wrap Color Black Leather
Blade Color Red
Blade Type Saber 37 inch
Sound SaberCore Viridium (light font)

And after looking it over I have the following thoughts about it

First off the workmanship is amazing and I will give that to SaberForge for their ability to make beautiful lightsabers, however after forgetting what I got and finally getting it after the 4 months I am NOT impressed with the lightsaber at all.

The balance is way off, if you it near the middle of the blade it's almost balanced
The grip on it begins to hurt the hand, when using it in combat it just sort of bounces in my hand causing blisters (and mind you I'm an accomplished wielder of blades having studied for many years - so I know I am not doing it wrong)
The knobs are just in an atrocious spot making it difficult to handle with ease I have to make my hand grip in a different area, not pleased with that either.

I could go on but I won't all in all I am NOT that impressed with the blede or the way it feels, but I do like the way it looks and for that I will simply be putting it on my way as a decoration and looking elsewhere for lightsabers . . . mainly due to time of delivery and feel of the blade.

Thank you in advance for your dedication to creating a beautiful looking blade but not a very practical using blade.

Thanks.

It always pains me when someone is unhappy with their purchase. Perhaps there a couple of small things that might help.

Given your stated level of expertise with other bladed weapons, I would not presume to give you advice. However, for a saber the size of the Disciple, a 32 inch blade would potentially provide a better balance point. As for the grip, many folks who duel with these for any length of time use a light athletic glove which solves most issues.
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....

When we train I do wear gloves but the fact that it was rubbing on my hands that quickly was the disappointment - as for a shorter blade I've used everything from a 24" to a 40" as well as the staff with no difficulties . . . I do however appreciate your help but as I said the creation of it is amazing but the functionality will be wall display.

Have a great day

^This. Most owners of sabers from the Apprentice line feel that a 32" or even a 26" blade are a better fit.

I wish I'd known this also. Within 30 mins of having mine I was back on the site looking up a 32" replacement. 37" isn't massive but it just feels a little too long on my Acolyte.

It happens to a lot of us. I got 37" blades for my first 3 sabers (two of which I received). I have put those blades on eBay and they sold quickly. I am doing 32" blades from now on.
