SHIPPED!!!!!!!!!!

Hero RGBA Vanquish
Ordered: 2016-5-22
"Shipped": 2016-8-9
USPS Status: Dropped 2016-9-8
ETA: 2016-9-10

So it looks like I will be sitting outside my front door all day Saturday. Any suggestions on what I should do with it first?

Well... It arrived. Unfortunately it isn't working properly (Random power off, no clash effects and unable to change the RGBA colors by rotating the saber), so it's going back to SF. My guess is it's a faulty motion sensor, but I'll leave that up to them to figure out.

The hilt however, is very beautiful. I'll give a full review when I get these issues resolved (and no, I'm not holding this against it, sabers are more art than science).

And so it begins ... The Wait: A New Hope

I heard hero board have a second motion for color changing you need to hold press on aux while rotating but it is a good idea to send it back anyway.

Ship started tracking Friday night, of course after I emailed for an update :P
Should be here Monday if I can work out getting home to sign for it. Now I just have to decide if I want to hold the Bastion for a couple weeks to giv it to the wife on her birthday, or if excitement will get to me and I show her early. Either way, it'll go through testing and custom setup first.

I tried that too. Thought about adjusting the sensitivity in the settings, but you need to rotate the saber to get to the menu and that doesn't work either.

Oh well...

:woohoo: Week 11 just ended last Thursday (8 Sept) and USPS picked up saber from Saberforge. Arrived at N Houston sorting facility yesterday (11 Sept) and is now en route to my PO Box. Should be in hand by Wednesday, one week and one day earlier than my original estimate of 13 weeks including a build time of 5 weekdays. Actual build time stretched out to 10 weekdays. Transit time with USPS was estimated at 5 weekdays.

Well, the time draws near.
Wainted since August 20th, when the pre-shipping info was sent, then it was picked up on the 29th of August.
Today, the Black Lotus finally breached my countries border.
Well,technically it's still breaching it.

"Your item is being held in Customs at 12:41 pm on September 12, 2016."

Is this bad tho? The fact that it's "held". Does that suggest there's a problem, or is that just a normal process? Never had stuff shipped to me from across the seas.
Hope it doesn't take long and there are no problems.

There's a lot more experienced people than me since I live in the continental US, but from what I've seen additional waiting times and customs costs seem to be pretty normal for international shipping.

And while the wait has ended, there are problems. Particularly, the Bastion is DOA. After unwrapping, I noticed the kill key didn't appear to be fully inserted. I made to remove it so I could plug in to charge, and the charge port started pulling out right with it. It doesn't appear that it was even glued in. I plugged in to see if it would indicate charging which it did. A few hours later and it showed as charged, but still no response. Have an email in to get an RMA. Now I won't have my wife's birthday gift in time for next week.

On to the Venomous Fury. It seems to operate normally, though the speaker didn't sound great on initial testing. Letting it charge to see if there's a change. Also had a very rough edge on the emitter shroud. Nothing I can't fix with a dremmel, but also not impressed after waiting 15 weeks. Hopefully they take care of things quickly.

Sadly it seems like the QC has dipped a bit from the last few posts of some problem arrivals.

Avarice, without knowing your destination Country for Package Delivery, I'll answer presuming the Policies are the same as they apply here in Australia.
"Held in Customs" is not as good as "Processed through Facility" but not as bad as "Goods Rejected by Customs". With your notified update, due process needs to be served to satisfy conditions for release on bail.

Your Customs Dept. will send you a Letter (snailmail) that can take anywhere from 3-10 Days to get to you. You then either have to engage in a Customs Broker (for a Fee) to lodge information on your behalf to clear customs or opt to do it yourself and submit the necessary documentation. Here in Oz, DIY takes stupidly longer because it relies on the manual entry system where engagement with a Broker (as it's recommended by the Letter) is faster because of electronic lodgement.

Once queries are satisfied and Fees, Duties and Taxes Paid (if and where applicable), Customs will be declared Clear and Tracking movement will resume (usually if without delay) within 5 Days. Depending on how you proceed and with waiting for receipt of the Letter (to obtain the Parcel Reference Number) it can take on average up to 2Weeks for the Package to be delivered; longer if delays with processing occur.

There's also a Demurrage i.e. Holding Fee that starts calculating Interest on Held Goods until Clearance is made but this usually doesn't start to tick until after 1Month has passed.

Hope it helps.

Just wanna add what Snakeeyz99 and OvrcAHst have explained...
In my case (shipping to Indonesia), when we receive a status like yours, what we could do is to contact our local post office that has cooperation with USPS, and try to ask for more information whether or not they require any supporting documents to expedite the process.

Usually USPS has cooperation with fellow state-owned post offices in various countries, so you may want to check with the related post office in your respective country.

In my experience, and just like OvrcAHst already mentioned, should your package gets through the customs, the post office mentioned above will send you a mail (physical mail, not email) which will explain at which post office branch your package is currently located, and how much do you need to pay for the customs before you could collect it from them.

However, since usually it takes a long time to receive the mail, a nice-asking-for-information phone call to the post office will help you in getting those information sooner than waiting for the mail to arrive.

So, once again, just try to contact your local post office, and hopefully you could get your long-awaited saber without any issue whatsoever :)

Hi Darth S,
Not sure if you got a chance to browse the Bane review section. Bassius has an excellent tutorial on the Bane and mentions the complications of rotating his hero tier saber to flip through the colors. Since the Bane is a curve hilt to then similar issues may be seen on your vanquish?

:woohoo: Picked up saber at my local post office yesterday morning before work. Was expecting a smaller box since I didn't order a blade with my saber. Box had crush marks in two places but no tears or breaks. 12W SF Guardian, plain finish, with Amber LED and Sabercore Veridian sound, recharge port, and battery charger. Worked well right out of the box, pretty loud, extremely bright. I'll probably post a review under "Guardian" when I get the time.

Unexpected bonus: I only carry one saber at a time and I only display the hilts so I don't order a blade with each new hilt. I also have 2 extra blade plugs. SF included a new V4 blade and a new black reactor blade plug. However, they used a broken-off portion of a charger instead of a kill key which I didn't realize that I needed. Hopefully, a friend of mine has one he's willing to trade.

To sum up: Ordered on 22 June. In the queue til 21 August (60 days). Build finished on 8 Sept (78 days) and shipped from Oregon. Arrived in Texas on 12 Sept (82 days) and picked up the next day.

YES! That helps a great deal. After watching the video, I was able to get it to change color at least once so I'm guessing the hilt style is to blame. I was also able to fix the flash/clash issue in the settings (basically turned it off).

I'll consider the issue settled for now.

Thanks hugomontoya!

Well, the wait is finally over. The Saber is in the post office of my home town.
But the damned Customs slapped a fee of ~90$ which I have to pay before I can claim the package. A fee I cannot possibly afford.
So no Lotus for me it seems. :/

Ordered a Reliant, Consular and Sentinel on Sunday the 11th. Waiting patiently for that beautiful box to arrive in 3 monthsish. Do empty hilts come in a Toblerone too I wonder.

Made my next ASP order today: a yellow LED module and a black Dissident body with black Stingray wrap. The rate these are arriving seems very consistent, so I'm planning my next order right now. It'll probably be another LED module and some assorted DIY electronics.

  These very Hilts are Ready to Ship in 3-5 Business Days (from SF Etsy) but the interpretation reads that you've Ordered from Main Site?

If no blades form your Order than, No. If with blades, more than likely.

Yeah I looked at the Etsy and was going to get them there but you save just a smidge of money buying form the main site and even though I am impatient I have to try to cut costs as much as possible so the miss doesn't stab me. I figured $15 was $15 and a good exercise in patience for me.
