Champion sabers should come with the following:

-Saber hilt CNC precision machined from aerospace grade high strength alloys.
-Hyper durable V4 infinity blade with threaded tip in 26", 32", or 37".
-Quad Cree 12W+ LED.
-SaberCore 2.0 sound upgrade.
-Built in recharge upgrade with 3400mah battery, quick charge 3A charger, recharge port, and kill key.

Though I noticed that the ongoing convention deal also comes with a 37" day blade that matches your blade color.

When you say recharge port, do you mean there's a USB port or something in the hilt? And what's a kill key?

Also, am I going to need to buy a specific hex wrench to loosen/tighten anything?

Thanks.

Hi glassjaw,

A recharge port is a socket on the hilt handle that the battery charger plugs into. Because of the way a saber with sound works the battery is semi-permanently connected to the soundboard and provides power. The Activation Switch just ignites or extinguishes the lights and sound (and triggers the auxiliary sound effect). To prevent the battery from draining when not in use you need to insert a Kill Key into the recharge socket, this this temporarily disconnects the battery from the soundboard. The Kill Key looks something like this...

The recharge socket is NOT A USB port and is usually located below the Activation Switch (here is a picture of the recharge port on an Ares)..

Finally you should get a Hex Wrench included to loosen the Blade Retention screw. (However if it is missing a 5/64" Hex wrench can be used)

Hope this helps,

For Tyeth

The recharge port is how you will recharge the battery in a Champion or Hero tier saber, rather than removing it like you would in the Warrior tier. It is a 2.1mm power jack. It's basically backwards from a headphone plug: the male pin is inside the recharge port, and the charger has a female plug.

glassjaw wrote:

The kill key is a plastic piece that goes into the recharge port and interrupts the connection. This is what actually turns the saber "off" with the soundboards that SaberForge uses.

All hilts from SF come with the 5/64" allen wrench for the blade and LED retention screws, but if you wish to remove the covertech knob, then you will need a 9/64" one as well.

EDIT: Ahh, just beaten by For Tyeth! See his post for pretty pictures! lol

Thanks guys! I got my first "saber" in 1999 or 2000. The hilt was a single piece of plastic with black accents that were made of foam. The blade would have broken from dropping it on a hardwood floor once. When I got it, it turned on once. I replaced the D battery and it still never turned on again. I couldn't get it refunded.

So anyway I've been lurking for a better one for a while. Nothing ever jumped out at me until the one I ordered, so I'm pretty excited.

Got a hero plug and play kit with it as well as plugs and blades.

Asked for a Standard Arbiter for my bonus saber.

Got my shipping notification today. With parts only is it still customary to wait a week or so after you get the tracking number before it actually ships?

Ugh, the wait is killer...but I am guessing it's because I keep checking every day for an update on it. XD Feels like it's taking longer than my 1st saber, even though I know it's not the case.

Looking around the site has me all 'hmm, wonder if they make LED glowey Guardian weaponry a'la Breath of the Wild.' Wondering gives me bad ideas. I already am running out of space for costumes, let alone more glow-rious props! XD

Well I got my answer. About 2 days after I got the shipping number it's started moving. Looks like I'll have it Friday :silly: :woohoo:

Finally after 6 weeks from my order I received the package :)

The Fallen and the Archon surrounded my lonely Monarch

Unfortunatelly my joy is not as great as it can be, 'cos I noticed 3 scratches in the Fallen

Seems like the scratches come from the forge because I believe they're done with a saw or some other tool like that...

It came in on Saturday. I haven't taken any pictures yet cause I want to wait till it's all put together. The dual switch for the hero really threw me off. Not sure how I feel about that. Anyway glued it yesterday so hopefully I'll be putting it all together tonight.

Just made my first saber(s) purchase and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Gladiator × 1

Hilt Finish: Standard
Select Tier: Champion (Light + Sound)
Sound Font: SaberCore Crimson (Dark Side)
Grip Wrap: Dark Brown Leather
Blade Length/Type: (32")
Blade Color: Arctic Blue
LED Quick Connect Upgrade?: Yes
Add Energy Vibration?: None
Optional Belt Clip System: Yes

Dissident × 1

Hilt Finish: Standard
Select Tier: Champion (Light + Sound)
Sound Font: SaberCore Viridum (Light Side)
Grip Wrap: None
Blade Length/Type: (32")
Blade Color: Green
LED Quick Connect Upgrade?: Yes
Add Energy Vibration?: None
Optional Belt Clip System: Yes

Since the shop is out of stock on the medium brown leather wrap that's displayed on the Dissident photo I went with no wrap and I will just buy some leather and wrap it myself ^_^

Also thinking I may pick up multiple LED's down the line to try different colors with the quick swap feature.

Well I'm back on the waiting list myself

Talon

Hilt Finish: Weathered
Select Tier: Champion (Light + Sound) + $250
Sound Font: SaberCore Crimson (Dark Side)
Blade Color: Deep Red
Blade Length/Type: (32")

I really like the look of the new hilt, has a nice sinister look to it. I'm also curious to see how the Deep Red looks compared to the normal Red (which is what my disciple is in.) This will be my third SF hilt. Very excited, looking forward to doing a review when it comes in.
