TOPIC: Brown Leather

Hey Guys,

I wanted to see if anyone would be able to help with some clarification before I shoot SaberForge an email.

Brown Leather is listed looking like this

So I assume the Brown Leather is depicted in the spear extension

and the Reliant listing,


While the Dissident is posted with a more orange-ish brown.

that is similar to the Gladius listing


Are the Orange-Brown and Dark Brown Wraps a different version that was replaced with the other (If so, which one is the current brown leather?) Or are they two different leathers that are both available?

If I order a Dissident and specify brown leather, will it turn out like the Dissident picture or with the wrap depicted in the leather wrap listings.

If they aren't the same leather, which one is the Dissident pictured with? Would I specify wanting the darker brown leather with "Dark Brown Leather" or something to that effect?

Does someone know the answer to this or had already asked SaberForge? Or would I be better off emailing and asking?

This would probably best be answered by SF customer service. Since the brown wrap options are regular leather (which doesn't have a texture), reptile and stingray (which have textures), and all the wraps in the pictures you posted don't have a texture, I can assume that all of them fall under brown leather.

The difference in color may be a batch difference or a even just difference in lighting, as all these pictures were taken at different times (with the top Gladius being the oldest picture and the Reliant being the newest picture).

If you do contact CS and they tell you, let us know. I'm very curious what version (if not actually the same) will be coming on my gladius.

I recently received a Gladius and spear extension with brown leather. For reference, here's a pic of them.

So this is what I gathered from CS response.

The orange-brown wrap featured on the Dissident picture is an older version. The brown leather wrap is now the one pictured on the spear extension.

Also, something I learned (many probably already knew this) was that you can't choose the wrap on Etsy Listings unless it has a drop down box for it.

So hopefully the saber I order (Dissident) very soon will come with that brown leather wrap (probably will because its pictured with it).
