Actually, they won't be running out for some time. Phil told me that in order to keep costs low for the special process of machining the curved design, they had to order a large quantity of parts from their commercial machining shop to make it worthwhile. So the Bane will be a permanent addition on both etsy and the main website for the foreseeable future.
Someone asked about the black screws being replaced by silver ones. Even if for whatever reason SaberForge is unwilling to accommodate that request, you can easily run to your local hardware shop and buy silver stainless steel button head screws to replace the black ones with.
Regarding polished finish, Phil had this to say:
"I have no plans to do a polished finish of this saber design, its too easy to scratch a polished finish, and too hard to fix."
Which makes sense if you think about it, all the other sabers SF offers are straight, so if they get scratched and need to be polished up you can throw it on a lathe and polish it easily. But you can't do that with a curved hilt, so polishing would need to be done by hand. Screw that, lol, super time consuming. Even my shelf queen polished sabers that I have for display and don't duel with have been scratched a bit just by me handling them now and then.
I can't wait to see the other finishes. Even without the polished finish, I believe the Bane has more available finishes than any other saberforge saber to date: standard black silver, reversed silver black, all black, all silver, and weathered.
