While I completely understand that this is a matter of preference, I'm really looking for some feedback from any/all whom may have both fonts readily available for comparison. I've made some comparisons myself through the YouTube and review videos that everyone shares but now I would just like to have a few opinions.

I recently ordered my Reborn with Indigo and the Crimson Sound Font. However I'm not certain that the Crimson captures the sound the way I see the wielder of this blade in my head (if that makes sense...). I'm not one that believes that the Snap-Hiss is necessarily indicative of ones force alignment. With that in mind, I see this wielder as a Dark Side practitioner - one more reliant on cunning and agility than sheer power.

With Hilt in hand as he thumbs the ignition switch I hear the blade come to life with a crisp burst and a powerfully sustained hum.

In your professional opinions :P ,does the Viridian capture that effect better than the Crimson in person?

The Crimson has a good sound to it in person. My only big complaint is the aux sound of the force lightening that can easily be toggled on when spinning and a bit of a design flaw in my opinion.

If they were going to make it a toggle as opposed to the blaster button press on the Viridium, it wouldn't be such an issue. I just wish the menu had the option to mute or turn off the secondary sound.

I only have the crimson one so I can't say anything about the viridium in person. I think I prefer the viridium to the crimson though I'm not really a huge fan of the force lightning noise, I'd much rather have the blaster fire haha. But I can't bring myself to buy a darkside saber without crimson xD
I think the idle hum on crimson sounds a bit more electric-y than the viridium, though that may just be the sound difference from videos, I won't know till my viridum arrives :)

In case you haven't seen it, here's my comprehensive review of the Viridium and Crimson boards.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys and thanks Darth Mario for the comprehensive comparison in one location - I was panning back and forth between example videos before :P

Also, another quick (and silly) question... and this is purely because I want to make sure that I am saying it correctly. I don't want to be the guy with spinach in his teeth and nobody is telling him

Is it Viridian or Viridium? I know that Viridian is an actual hue between the colors Green and Blue which would seem to follow if used to describe the "Light Side". Considering that Crimson is another way to describe Red for the "Dark Side". This is just my assumption though, and you know what they say when you assume...

It's Viridium. Viridium is actually the latin plural for viridis, which is an adjective meaning, literally green, young, fresh, lively, youthful.

Haha I know what your saying. I thought it was Viridian at first too. Apparently the correct name is Viridium. I even played it over and over to see what it was lol.

This is an interesting subject, and as an English major and OCD person I can shed some light on this.

In summer 2014 when the new SaberCore soundboard was released, Phil advertised it on facebook as the "Veridian" soundboard. I commented to him that the proper spelling was Viridian, if he wanted it to be like the color green. This was before the Crimson was released. So it was the Viridian for a couple months. You will notice on my original video where I review one of the first two prototype SaberCore 12w sabers, I list it as Viridian, because that's what it "officially" was called back then. Also, the boot up sound is clearly "Viridian"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UXX3785h5w

Sometime later, Phil switched the spelling to Viridium, to this day I still do not know the reason, but since he decided to switch the spelling on the website listing, I carried that over into all my correspondence and future videos.

It personally makes more sense to me to have Viridian and Crimson, green and red, light and dark. But then again Exhalted is misspelled and Resiliant is misspelled on the website, no one cares, lol. Plus both Viridium and Crimson boards will be obsolete by the end of the year with the release of the new customizable SaberCore 3.0, so it really doesn't matter, hehe.

So call it whatever you want, people in our community will know what you're talking about either way.
