Wow, the real thing looks so much better than the renders. The Relic so #$%@ing METAL... MUST HAVES IT. The Templar's little ball pommel is so... dinky.

They haven't said when it will release, but if we are getting the reveal pics, it should be relatively soon.

I suspect the Mauler, Archon, and the Relic/Templar will be released the same weekend same as the Ka'Tano, Phoenix, and Destiny were. The Kickstarter survey has been forecasted to come out this week so they might push the new sabers out to next week. *Shrugs* They have the parts as indicated by preview vids by Jordan Moll ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6ZOjBeNjpkxzmobtUyxWJg), they're just waiting for the best time to launch.

Launches take time, since the prototype sabers have to be assembled and installed for the various pictures, and then the pics have to be taken and the listings created on etsy.
Phil doesn't like to take time away from regular orders to do launches, which means he or another tech has to come in during their off hours to build the prototypes for the pictures, then Phil has to find time to take the pictures in his garage and make the listings. But the release should be very soon

I appreciate this a great deal. Although it does seem like a bit of a Catch-22. I remember Phoenix-Gate.

Couple of questions about these,
Is the LED source the same as a standard saber or does it need to be multi directional, requiring additional dice? Also I wonder if the main blade can "ignite" seperately from the side guards like in the trailer or if it's all or nothing for the lights? Overall I think I like the Templar (with some small customizations) a bit more. I would need to see the movie first, to see how the saber and the Kylo Ren charachter are recieved before I pulled the trigger on either one. |

I would imagine the side blades are their own LEDs. They pretty much have to be. The light from one can't split three ways like that. As for ignition control, that would vary upon the board installed rhe saber and multi led functions it would be able to do... which, I don't think any boards currently have that type of option and control but that may be something coming down the road.
