vitojlauro Offline New Member Posts: 3	So I have the Acolyte apprentice saber. I love it! However, i ordered the light whip, and it doesn't fit the acolyte. The plug part is ok, but the end of the plug, the chrome part, is too wide. It gets caught on the rim of the hilt. If I sand it down, will it be ok?

It gets caught on the rim of the hilt.

The rim of the light whip plug should be flush with the rim of the Consular's emitter shroud, it doesn't go inside. If there's a gap, you can sand down the base of the plug a bit. If the rim of the light whip's plug overhangs the lip of the Consular you may want to consider sanding it down to be flush with the lip but it's kinda hard to give suggestions w/o knowing exactly what the issue at play is.

Posts: 1536 Thank you received: 471	It's an Acolyte, not a consular The acolyte has a slanted emitter... having never had/held a light whip I can't really advise any modifications being done to it. Have you tried emailing SF to ask if it would impact the functionality to sand/remove the lip so it would fit deeper in the Acolyte?

This might be the issue

EvilGeth hit the issue on the head. The light whip uses a standard elite level blade plug, which is not compatible with angled emitters on Apprentice sabers. It is also generally not recommended for use on any Elite sabers with claws or angled emitter shrouds.
