TOPIC: TOP 5 Fav SF Sabers

Okay, just distracting myself a little... today is 4 weeks down on my Etsy wait (PS Champion Crystal Reveal Green Viridium 12W+) and I know with how things are going it COOULD be another 3-4 weeks....SO...

just curious of everyones top 5 SaberForge makes. My #1 is being made as we speak (above), so I'll list 2-5 and see if anyone jumps in. Of course mention any of your fav thats fine, just thought I'd keep it w/ SF.

2) Monarch - weathered, with color changes... this open-chamber crystal saber is so freaking amazing.

3) Exhalted - If I wasn't such a nerd for my main saber being very film-like in design, this may have been my choice too since I LOVE thin-neck sabers. I'd probably like crystal chambers in any saber, but this one looks like it would be so great to duel with (no activation box) that I'd almost rather not include it. I'd probably want weathered and blue.

4) Gladius - high-polish with a blue leather rap for me... its so simple, but it sticks out to me. I think this would be killer to fight with too. Deep blue.

5) Jade Fire - this one was a toughy, because I'd like to pick one of the "window" hilts in my top 5, but this BEAST stands out to me, and if there's one thing I know now after owning a few... you go for the one that you connect with. Brightness, sounds, wtvr customizations go along with it are great, but if you don't connect with the hilt then you'll lose interest. This is just so unique looking, and I can't tell if I'd like it polished or weathered (both look great), but I'm pretty sure I'd want Indigo and Blood Orange.

and yes... I LOVE Obi-Wan's III/IV thin-neck, as well as the classic Graflex. That ROTJ has always called to me though, and I'm so pumped!!!!

1. Archon- The inspiration for this one (a pic that saw wide circulation almost 8 years ago and still sits near the top of google image search results for "lightsaber") first caught my eye a while ago so I was ecstatic when SF picked it up as a design. I appreciate everything about it (long hilt, silver/black contrast, leaf emitter shroud) enough to choose to make a heavily modded model as my Kickstarter Legacy saber.

2. Regal- I like the smooth lines and organic curves that make this a unique design in the SF stable.

3. Reliant- A workhorse design that is both functional and attractive.

4. Phoenix- Fairly useless as a dueler (IMO, maybe as a shoto) but a unusual design that incorporates a number of unique features such as the graflex "ears," the double body length shroud, and the windowed emitters.

5. Sorcerer- Inspired by Exar Kun's saber. 'Nuff said.

So far out of the ones I've seen images of I've really liked:

1: Venomous Fury - No protrusions for easy grip shifting when swinging around and looks like it would fit nice, and the I like the claw shroud and the grenade grip. Very nice! This is also the one I ordered.

2: Exalted - Similar reasoning to liking this one as Venomous Fury, as well as its 'traditional lightsaber' look from the original trilogy. It was crazy hard deciding which one of the two to get!

3: JadeFire - Looks really cool and well balanced. Control box is up near the emitter so it doesn't get in the way which I like.

4: Epoch - II like the division from where the grips can be and the windows look real neat!

5: Reliant - I've always been a fan of the shroud, and I like the idea of the leather grip. But that control box looks as though it will get in the way. But if you can get that control box this would jump up to number 3 for me.

Ok, I will limit mine to the models that are available because render to reality sometimes influences me in either direction. with that said...

Oddly, my top five don't entirely represent the 5 that I have purchased or that are on my wish-list.

1. Bane - Simply put, I am a fan of the curved lightsaber hilt (can't wait for the count). I favor a 1 handed grip. Makashi would be the form of choice for me.

2. Archon - I love the elegance of this hilt.

3. Reborn - Highly influenced by my love for SWOTR. Although I'm not necessarily the biggest fan of the direction they took Revan as a character.

4 - Silver Knight - Sleek, simple and chic.

5 - Sorcerer - Of all of the models available, this one speaks to me the most and yet I have not purchased it. A great representation of Exar Kun's hilt. There is something innately wicked or evil about this design. I love it!

Regal - White. When this becomes available via ASP, I am ON IT!

Reliant - Deep Blue. Always liked this design.

Silver Knight - Amber. Relatively new on the scene, but quickly became one of my favorites.

Exile or Avenger - RED. These two are very similar, except for the pommel. Either would be fantastic.

Archon - Green. What is not to love?

Consular - Indigo. The design is simple, and damned near perfect.

I already own 2 of my favorites (the Bane, and the Exhalted), both of which I LOVE! Anyway, that's my list, and I am sticking to it!

5. Reborn

Monarch might bump Reborn off the list when I have it in hand.

You guys ROCK, thanks for the responses. I think if I dueled my lost may have been different, but never done it. Can't start with my PS Crystal coming either but that's ok. I've read it'll be deemed a shelf-queen, ha but that's aight.

My wish list in no order
- Grandmaster staff in amber - inspired by one of my favorite Jedi
- Archon in blood orange - love the polished swoop on dark grip combo
- Black Lotus in indigo - so sexy
- Vengeance in deep blue - love that emitter
- Jade fire in purple - so unique looking

I have yet to actually hold a SF saber, these are all based on pictures:

One note I like aspects of both the current and previous versions of the Epoch, but there are things I don't like about each which makes them not make this list. The issue with the previous version was the box on the body. The issue with the current version is the parallel windows vs the perpendicular ones. I also preferred the gaflex style additions near the top of the previous emmiter. I would love to see them add the previous versions emitter into ASP or to make a new version of the Epoch that combines the emitter of the previous version with the body of the current. That would probably be #1 on my list if that happened.

Looked up Archon and SilverKnight since I didn't see it on their website. Hot Damn. Jade Fire and Epoch are out!

I really like the fact it comes with a D-Ring on it off the bat. I prefer that over the covertec wheel.

3. Venomous Fury - Standard Finish with quick connects
4. Disciple - Standard Finish, Cobalt Wrap and quick connects
5. Silver Knight - Standard Finish with quick connects
