TOPIC: Saberforge Wait Time a Conspiracy I tells ya!!

So I bought a 12W Purple Acolyte Warrior edition Standard finish [my first Saberforge purchase] 5 weeks ago (22nd of July), and I was so excited! 4 weeks went by, and I could not contain my excitement, so I went and bought another saber (namely, a 12W Yellow Consular Warrior edition Weathered finish) a week ago (17th of August). Apart from the fact that Saberforge takes a long time because they are perfecting their amazing hilts, there is a conspiracy here! The longer the wait time, the more chance to annihilate your wallet and purchase more sabers! So I warn you! Conspiracy!

I think it is more of a happy coincidence for them.

The volume of their business (which has been going stratospheric lately, so wait times even on Etsy have increased a bit), dictates how long things take, based on parts availability, and their labor pool. However, the effect in some cases, like yours, is the desire to have more of these before we have taken delivery of our first order, as a way to compensate for the time.

In the end, everyone wins! You get more fantastic sabers, they have increased their business, and in the process your extra orders have encouraged them to hire yet another saber tech to make more sabers for folks just like you!

I tell you, it is a vicious circle of the most wonderful kind!

I have to agree. I purchased my first saber (Disciple warrior amber) from the SF website and finally received it yesterday. In the interim I have purchased and received from SF Etsy a Sorcerer's Staff and a Bane.

Now that I'm not waiting on a saber, I feel sort of lost and am trying to decide on what to buy next. I think the anticipation is addictive.

But only because the end product is so friggen cool!

I always have plans on what my next purchase will be. It is always just a waiting game until I can pull the trigger without incurring the disdain of the budget manager of the house.

Haha I have to put a leash on myself every time I even open up the Etsy store! The wait times are killing me!

I know this pain! I am nearly 3 weeks into my Esty wait and I am holding myself back from buying more! I think when the Menace and Count are released my ability to hold back will fail me... haha

They look amazing! I really want a Redeemer in Blue and Prodigal Son in Green, for obvious reasons of course. But when the ASP program comes out, yeaaaah i'm gonna need a bigger leash...

I have a redeemer in Deep Blue on the way! A very easy choice of saber! A Prodigal Son will be a future investment no doubt! BUY ALL THE SABERS!

Nice! When i getz more moneyz then that will probably be my next one! Buying all the sabers is the way to go! Just to be sure....just to be sure....

Personally, I'm not buying a new saber until ASP is released. And even then, I'll probably buy the saber piece by piece. Not only to save money, but to make me feel like I had to earn it bit-by-bit like a real Jedi.

Don't remember Jedi's having to build the saber piece by piece. They only had to build them by hand if I remember correctly.

But I was under the impression that during the Old Republic, padawans were given the pieces bit-by-bit as they advanced through their trials. I could be wrong though. That or I'm just thinking of the fact that most of them wouldn't just have all the parts lying around in direct reach and would need to kinda search for them

It took me a long awhile, and a couple bad choices for other sabers, to FINALLY choose to get my Prodigal Son. When SF changed the recharge port location and the crystal area, I knew what I wanted!!! Its coming soon, I HOPE! Haha. I'm a few days into Week 6 on Etsy. One of the hardest parts is seeing other ppl in this forum or on FB post sabers they ordered after mine and they already have them ARGH! lol. I did however change to 12W+ after a few days, so who knows if this change moved my saber back just a little in line for production.

I'm 5'10" and not going to be dueling, so I went ahead with what I thought would be the most movie-like for the blade, its a bit more... epic than the 32" (although im sure the weight and feel of the 32 is better for any activity).

WHILE WAITING... I've found myself also wanting a Monarch and a weathered Exhalted... haha its so hard not to go again, but maybe in the future or in a lottery. The budget will not allow!

Anyway, people can say what they want about my shelf-queen choice, but dammit I've wanted a great version of this saber since I was young, and now its on its way soon.

This is too true. I ordered two sabers from the Saberforge site last week and then decided that I needed an Etsy saber as well, so I would have something in my hands earlier to "tide me over" while I wait for the "real" sabers! If there was something faster than Etsy, I'd be in real trouble because then I need something to tide me over while I wait for the Etsy saber!

I received my first saber, the Guardian, on August 2nd, I just placed an order last week for a Bane V1 which will now be my 5th SF saber, I think I may have a problem and need to seek counseling...
