Is it/would it be possible to have the spines that run down the hilt attached in some way? I have fairly large hands, and while I love the appearance of this saber, it's a little disconcerting feeling them move under my palm when I'm wielding it.

Or would this be more of a tech support question?

I don't actually have a reborn but the claws should just be connected with hex screws and with the right size Allen key it should be fairly easy to remove them.

I don't want to remove them. The spines/claws are only connected at the top, and at the bottom the "wiggle" under my hand.

I'm assuming by attached you mean permanently fixed to the hilt? In which case they should be. I believe that there is only one of the three spines that should give you sort of a spring effect at the base. My understanding is that this is working as intended.

If all three of your claws have some give, I would contact SF directly as it may be a construct issue. Or as Galade pointed out, try to tighten them yourself with the hex key. If it is in fact just the one, perhaps a spot of super glue at the bottom would do the trick.

I own a Reborn myself and though the one springy claw does bother me a bit from a cosmetic stance, it does nothing to impact the functionality. Just my thoughts though...

First off, this isn't a review... why was it posted in the review section? Please take a moment to read the pinned thread on this board...

Secondly, all three can have some give, it's not a structural issue, it's the way they're designed and attached. If it bothers you, try taking them off and putting a little glue along the undersides and pressing it down to hold them against the hilt body. Keep in mind however, that the spines are made to be flexible so they don't break... doing so may lead to issues down the road. And this may (probably will) void the warranty as well.
