So. First of all hello to all of you guys again, it's been a while :P

Seven months after receiving my first saber I am FINALLY in a position where I can afford to get a new one(s), which brings me a dilemma.

I intend to get initiate level sabers, so I don't miss out on any of the hilts I want, then add Champion level electronic kits later when they become available. I also have roughly €300 (340USD) to spend.
That leaves me with the following options.

I can either get one of these pairs: (I can't mix and match because they're on the two different stores)

Exhalted and the Avenger
or
Vengeance and the Reborn

Or either one of the following:
Mauler
Relic

Can someone tell me if the Exhalted will be staying as permanent on the store?
All the rest of the hilts I want (except the Relic) are on the ASP builder so I wasn't too sure if they planned on keeping it or not and I'd definitely be buying an Exhalted if I thought that SF were getting rid of it.

If it is a case that they're getting rid of it I'll be going for the Exhalted and the Avenger, if not I think I'm leaning more towards the Mauler or the Relic.

Also, can someone tell me if initiate level hilts still come with a blade plug and an AV switch just for aesthetic purposes? If not, will they give me one if I request it?
And do I need to request that they don't use glue on the hilt so I can put the electronics in myself or will they leave it unglued by default?

Lastly, How would you guys rather split it up if it were your choice? :)

Welcome back!
Can someone tell me if the Exhalted will be staying as permanent on the store?
The Exhalted consists of a Fury body, switch, and pommel w/a recolored Redeemer emitter so even though it's not explicitly on there you can build it. I would be VERY surprised if they discontinued it; it's a popular hilt.
Also, can someone tell me if initiate level hilts still come with a blade plug and an AV switch just for aesthetic purposes? If not, will they give me one if I request it?
And do I need to request that they don't use glue on the hilt so I can put the electronics in myself or will they leave it unglued by default?
From the FAQ:
Intiate: Empty. No electronics, no LED, no blade. Just the machined hilt. You can request that the pieces not be glued together, to allow for easier disassembly and easier installation of electronics into these hilts. Purchase if: you only want a hilt to sit on your shelf and do nothing with, or want a hilt to do your own install on. These do include your blade plug, and retention screws (LED and blade).
I'm not sure about the AV switch.
Lastly, How would you guys rather split it up if it were your choice?
Woof. That's a hard choice. The Relic would be a rough install since it has three LEDs and tricky wiring so, for me, that would take it out of the running. Of those options I would probably go with the Exhalted and Avenger.

Thank you h2soy :)

Oh wow it was right there in the FAQ ha, I've read that so many times and presumed it wasn't there because I'd have remembered it, my bad ha ha

I guess I could just ask them to do both really, I'm sure they wouldn't have too much of a problem to throw an AV switch onto it

Actually, there is no switch section on the Exalted. The switch and charge port bores are drilled right into the main (Fury) body section which does make it a bit different and not a saber you can fully build with the ASP.

Avenger, Mauler, Reborn and Vengeance are all ASP compatible, I imagine Relic will be in one of the expansion packs as discussed elsewhere.

So no real dilemma =)

It's a definite toss up between the Mauler and the Relic, think I'll flip a coin haha

As h2soy pointed out, much easier to wire the Mauler, vs. the Relic, so that could be a deciding factor, rather than a coin. ;) B)
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....

Uff, lazy of me not to mention that. Thanks Nebosa.

aha that is fantastic logic.
Although, the Mauler will be on the ASP builder. Do you guys know if SF will be keeping the Relic as a permanent option or if it'll be added to the builder when the cross guard add on is introduced?
If the relic is strictly limited, that would sway my decision.

The Relic has sold out before and they restocked etsy with 2X the first run. As for future ASP expansions... Impossible to say. Maybe Knytiri can give us an update?

Oh man. Busy day... buuuusssyyy... week. Busy life. 0.o

As pointed out, some of the sabers (like the Exhalted) can't be perfectly replicated in the ASP as the production line looks; they have some differences. Namely, the switch and body sections are one on a few sabers. Sabers like the Venomous Fury also can't be exactly replicated. This is another reason that production line sabers aren't going anywhere.

The cross guards (both styles) are so popular it's hard to imagine them NOT becoming a permanent addition to the lineup. Also, there will be more cross guard designs that will be added to ASP in upcoming expansions.

Out of your list, Relic and Mauler definitely carry the most "get it while you can" factor. But also as someone else said, the Relic will be harder to do your own install on, which may sway you towards the Mauler, for ease of installation... :)
