Hi folks,

Newbie here on the forum. So I'm designing an ASP saber, and wanted to know what would be the ideal length of the hilt if you wanted to learn spinning and flourishing and all that fun stuff?

My concern is I want to balance practicality (ease of performing spins, safety) with the design factor. For example, I like the Jade emitter a lot, but that will make the hilt more top heavy, and the knobs and rectangular section might impede speed and compromise safety. I can maybe choose a longer body and switch section, add a bigger pommel to balance weight, but that will affect the overall length and practicality even more.

Help!

Most of the people I've seen doing really acrobatic spinning are using hilts like the Arbiter or Gladius, so I'd say a length between 10-11" is probably good, and plan to use a 32" or 26" blade.

As long as the areas where you plan to grip the hilt are pretty clear and easy to move your hands around, I think you'd be fine?

What can you spin? Single-handed or staff.? Staff,,Your height matters.!Go to ASP builder design with jade emitter.. Then build=lenght hilt and choose blade lenght to keep overall lenght close to your height..Important to keep the middle free for single-handed staff,& keep in mind open areas for 2-handed wielding..! PLAYER.!.!.!

My disciple is good for spinning any of the apprentice sabers are I would avoid any top heavy hilts or ones with claws, but in the end you should get what you like best

Thanks! I plan on just doing single-handed – that way I can opt for a shorter hilt length. The Jade emitter is too awesome for me to give up. Already submitted my design – I can't wait!

Thanks man! I hope it works. I worry about the rectangular control box on the emitter, but I guess I'll have to adapt.
