It's really a morality choice for me, plus I want my liver to live long.
One night of a few drinks will not do anything to your liver. Excessive drinking will. It wasn't till I was 37 and special circumstances that I ended up just saying screw it and giving it a try. Did it make me an alcoholic, No. Did I put up with years of people making fun of me not drinking, yes and still do when I go to the local dive bar to visit co-workers after work. I still to this day don't really drink alcohol as I see no reason for it, it's expensive and just not worth feeling woozy. At some point you may or may not break down and give it a try. But to claim it will make your liver live longer from abstaining from one night worth of drinking is a false pretense. Either way, just be safe. I felt the same way at 21, but things change over the years. You may or may not drink at some point.

Totally with you on this one, up until some point ... Let me explain my meaning.
I'm French, we more or less have wine instead of blood in our veins. So yeah ... When I was 3, my parents would dip their fingers in champagne and have me suck on it for special occasion, like Christmas. I don't remember it, they told me they did.
When I was 6 or 8, sometimes my dad would let me have a sip of his beer (mind you, light ones like Kronenbourg or Heineken, stuff around 4 or 5 degrees)
And now I've started recalling all those memories, man I started young xD
I could have a sip of wine from times to times around 12, and my first full glass of wine (one per meal & on special occasions only) not before 15.
It's when I turned 18 that my parents "actually" let me drink alcohol.
Before that, or after, I have never seen the point in getting fully drunk, puking all over the place and not remembering shit from my night. Some people do, I don't get it. However, when you're Sam (the nickname we give in France to the driver for parties), it can be a lot of fun as long as you put safety first. For example, I have friends who, to this day, are absolutely certain they did this or that because I told them so, but they don't remember it because they did not do it
Did this underage drinking make me an alcoholic? Absolutely not. On average, I drink one beer a day (half a pint worth of volume), and if I don't, I might have a small glass of whisky.
I know where my limits are, I do not go anywhere near them as I want to be aware of what happens around me so I don't do any stupid and/or risky stuff that might get someone (me involved) injured or hurt in any way.
Then again, I'm French. And we drink alcohol on a daily basis because it's not just for celebrating, it's also for living
We have a saying in France that says: Most countries in the world eat and drink to live. French people live to drink and eat.
I'm pretty sure that if you look at the average wine or alcohol consumption per capita in France, we might have one of the highest ones. If you look at the actual alcoholism in society, I don't think we're doing too bad. But I'm making assumptions here, I didn't research any data to corroborate this.
Have a glass or two, that'll shut your friends up, you'll know what alcohol and drinking are like, and you won't, in ANY WAY, damage your liver, trust me/us on that
But then again, it's your choice. If you do not want to drink at all, suit yourself mate
