As a man in my mid 30s I don't ask for or request anything for Christmas and my birthday I make an even lesser deal about.
I'm a fairly humble man with many appreciations so anything someone gifts me I am grateful and pleasant for.
The thing I find with my 'wants' are that they are far too expensive to ask for as a gift from someone in my family. No one's going to buy me the Lego 10240 (The nearly 2' long Red 5 X-Wing). No one is going to buy me a lightsaber or anything else like that. So I do what I do; and throughout the year, if I have some disposable income I will buy it then and there and not wait for my birthday or a consumer driven 'holiday'. We have a tree up and a few presents for the smaller kids. But there's no more exchanges for us older people. We give our gift of time as we truly do not know how much of it we have and spend it with our loved ones.
As h2soy put it, happy (whatever holiday you choose to recognize based on your religion/upbringing). Enjoy, stay safe and may the Force be with you all.
