Hello people!!

I just placed my order about 4 days ago with SF so now I have to wait, well... about 3 or 4 months I guess... bad timing from me because with the new movie out, SF team must be super busy.. But I am very happy and looking forward to own my first saber.

I went with the Exhalted HERO edition... I was like go big or go home lol... trust me people I was debating for a while between Ultrasabers and SaberForge but after watching soooooo many videos on you tube ansd reading forums,,, I decided to go with SF for my first saber.

One thing that I would like to share with all of you is that I ordered the Exhalted with standard finish just like in their pic... however I read a post here about someone that recently purchased the Exhalted standard but that he was told by SF people that the thin black neck piece is now copper just like the Reedemer as the new standard for Exhalted... I sent SF like 3 emails trying to confirm if this change was true, but still waiting for their response ( just emailed them today so no rush) .. I mean if this turns out to be true, I think is going to look even better so I hope that it is... And I also told them that if is not true that I would like them to change the thin neck piece to copper anyways... do you guys think they will do it?

If this whole new experience works out, I can see myself buying 2 or 3 more in the future..
Take care good people!

First, let me say that I am a fellow Exhalted enthusiast. It was the first saber from The Forge that I HAD to have. I got it, as opposed to the Redeemer, or Prodigal Son mainly because it did not have the control box, which while aesthetically pleasing, is not very practical for sparring/dueling. That is just my opinion of course, as I am sure there are lots of folks out there who find it no problem at all. However, it was really the grenade section, and the thin-neck emitter that appealed to me the most. I have loved that particular combination since I first saw it on Obi-Wan's saber in "A New Hope" back in 1977 (when it was just "Star Wars" with no episode number or subtitle). You can see from the inserted picture, it turned out well. As for the copper section, I believe you are correct about the recent switch from brass, but perhaps someone else can further confirm.

I know the wait will be tough, but I can tell you from experience that it will be worth it! If you ordered from the main site, you might also be interested to know that yesterday, Kyntiri jumped on the forum and said SF had made progress towards reducing their lead time, so that it was now shorter than Etsy, at about 6-8 weeks. So, the wait may not be as long as you thought!

So, congrats on the order, and keep us updated in it as it progresses through and finally arrives!

BTW, don't be surprised if this thread gets moved to the "Open Topics" section of the forum, as this section is typically for reviews of sabers already received, rather than questions about them. No biggie, but they like to keep a tidy house around the forum. ;)

Imagine what you will know tomorrow....

Thanks for the info and the heads up about where the topic should be discuss :)
The part that I heard that changed to copper wasn't the brass but the small thin neck piece right on top of it just like the Reedemer. I am hoping that all the brass parts ( LIke yours and also the kill switch and knob will stay brass, I just want that additional thin copper neck.
That is great news, I hope it takes 6 or 8 weeks rather than 12-16... I will def post pics as soon as I get it with a review :)
