Hello, I am fairly new here. I have always been a fan of Star Wars and I, after weeks and months of waiting, ordered my first saber. It is a Warrior addition red 12W Disciple w/ weathered finish and black wrap.

It has only been 6 Days from the day I ordered it, and it is still an estimated 11-13 weeks until it is done and shipped. I am very excited for it to come, checking the status everyday. Was the choice, in your opinion, a good first saber? I would love to duel when I have it, but I sadly have no one to duel. I will most certainly cosplay/dress-up at conventions with it however. Tell me what you think!

I think that is a darned fine choice! If you want to practice in the absence of real sparring partners, there are combat tutorials in this forum that would be of use. Master those techniques, and when someone does become available, you and your Disciple will be unstoppable!
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....

Thanks for the input and advise! I will look into that! Whether it be now, soon, or when I get the saber. :)

Considering that just about every other first saber is a Disciple and I've yet to see a bad review, I think that's an excellent choice! My only advice: wean yourself off the shipping status; try to keep the saber just in the back of your mind. A watched kettle never boils and all XD

If you want to pass the time from now, until "Toblerone Day", you could start reviewing those tutorials and practicing with any object roughly approximating a saber, so that when the real thing arrives you will be as ready for it, as it will be for you! B)

Very well said, I will try not to get ahead of myself. :P
But truly I feel I made a good choice. My only concern is the neck of the saber, where it is the thinnest. I am almost certain it will never break, but I just have a feeling about it. I mean other sabers, like the Exalted, are even smaller necks. It is ascetically pleasing though.

Hi Darth Carnifex,

If you are worried about the Disciple, rest assured it is solid! I have just received one and was amazed by how well built it is! I'm not the only member to have one as mentioned, just check the review section and you'll have your mind put to rest!

I intend for my first saber from SF to be a weathered Arbiter with a green blade, so I don't share this concern. You really shouldn't worry, from what I've seen and heard SF's sabers are currently the best on the market, with super tough metal that has little to no chance of snapping. You should be fine. Just start training with SLO's (Saber Like Objects) and binge watch the full saga as well as Ep VII. You'll survive. :cheer:

Thanks for the assurance! No more concerns now. :) I will need to check out those reviews myself, I have seen a couple, but most of the time before hand I was just in a fit debating over which one to get, weighing in costs, looks, and quality. :P
