Hey guys I recently ordered an Epoch saber with a cyan 12w blade. Now i'm starting to see alot of different variations on the actual cyan color and i'm hearing that its nearly impossible to capture the true color of these blades on camera and that they always look different in person.

The color I wanted was close to what I saw when looking at this site's picture for the "consular" saber. The first picture it shows you has a light greenish blue blade that I thought was cyan. When I look up people with cyan blades it usually matches this color closely. But then i've seen a thread where people are saying that cyan is not that green and is far closer to 'blue" in color.

I also see what I believed to be cyan in a picture of the Epoch saber that is currently the main profile picture for Saberforge's facebook. Can you guys look at the two pictures I mentioned and tell me if those are indeed the cyan color? Or are they instead "mint green' which is what i'm starting to suspect.

Final question: I've been using the 3-D ASP saber builder program and the cyan color in there is way closer to blue than i thought. In that saber builder the "mint green' color is definitely matching to the color in the pictures I just mentioned above. So my question is, does anyone know if the saber builder has the first "accurate" representation of true to life saber colors? Since it works on computer modeling and not "pictures" of the actual colors...perhaps it is the only "true" approximation of color we can see besides seeing it in real life. I can say that many of the colors I look at in the saber builder do not match up with what I see in pictures...thats why i'm starting to wonder if it might be the right thing to base our decisions on instead of people's camera shots.

Thanks for any help guys

I think this thread had some good examples of each of the colors taken in the same location with the same camera, so it should minimize the number of variables at play:

The difference between the mint green and the cyan is probably one die. If you're looking for a green-blue blade I would go mint green, but if you want a blue-green I would go cyan.

Thanks snakeeyz I did read that thread and its part of where my confusion came from. You'll notice that in one of the pictures of a cyan blade, knytiri replies "is that cyan...green? That just looks off to me" or something along those lines. Then goes on to post pictures of his cyan example but sadly his pictures don't work anymore...the point he's making though is that its different than what the pictures show. What I see in those pictures is what I want and what I was expecting...but i keep seeing examples that I may not get what those pictures show.
