Iv'e been thinking of buying a saber for a while now and I was wondering if the blades were removable? on the preview images there's a saber without a blade and was wondering if I could switch on a blade or take it off I need. Any help on this subject?

Yes, all the saber blades can be removed.
They're secured by a retention screw.

Is it located differently depending on the saber?

The exact locations vary slightly, but they are all in fairly close proximity to the top of the emitter.
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....

The majority of hilts have the retention screw located about an inch away from the lip of the emitter.

Hi sp4rtan148,

This is a Disciple saber but the blade retention screws on most sabers should look something like the black screw in this pic circled in red.

The screw circled in blue is to remove the LED module.

The screw for the blade will be on the emitter section. To loosen the screw you use the Allen/Hex wrench that comes with the saber.

Hope this helps

Good thing you showed the disciple saber as an example, because that's the one i'm getting XD
So do I have to buy the plug separately or does it come with the $50 extension?

Correct me if I am mistaken here guys, but I believe that the Apprentice sabers do come with a plug. Just a slightly different one from the Elite sabers.

They come with a blade plug that isn't flush with the lip of the emitter. The Gladius has the same plug.

Yes they do come with a blade plug but I don't know what you meant by the $50 extension?

May I ask you to tell me the exact description for the saber you are thinking of purchasing as there are different "Tiers" or specifications depending on price.

These Tiers are explained in the FAQ Section found on the main page of the site and will answer a lot of your questions.

I'm thinking of getting a Disciple hilt with the $55 tier 2 warrior extension.

Ok thank you,

the following has been taken from the FAQ page..

Warrior - Basic stunt saber. Comes with your choice of 6W or 12W LED. 6W Warrior runs on AAA batteries, that you will need to supply. 12W Warrior comes with the 18650 rechargeable battery and a charger for said battery. You will need to remove the battery through the bottom of the hilt to recharge it. Also comes with a blade, your choice of 26, 32, or 37in Infinity Edge v4 blade, covertech wheel is installed on the saber (covertech belt clip does come as a separate piece), and a blade plug. Apprentice and Elite sabers have two different models of blade plugs, as the Elite model blade plug cannot fit in an Apprentice Acolyte or Disciple, due to the lip on the plug and the slanted emitter on the saber.

As you can see you do get a blade plug and blade.

I hope this helps

Thanks for the thorough and clear response. I just have 2 more questions.

1. What is an LED quick connect?

2. And where can I see what the Phoenix and Imperial saber stands look like?

Thanks.

LED Quick Connect is a connector placed on the wires between the power source, and the LED unit so that you can disconnect it, and put in an alternate LED unit (also with Quick Connects), without the need for soldering.

As for the stands, Saberforge's Etsy store should have them.

The Saberforge Etsy store should have images of them, and there are likely some around the forum also, but those could be a little harder to locate.

Hi you're welcome as you might have guessed I have a Disciple so glad to help! (You can see it in the review section if you like)

The LED Quick Connects are special connectors to enable you to remove the blade then remove the LED module from the saber and "Unclip" the LED module then "Clip" a different coloured LED module in place. This changes the colour of your saber.
The Quick Connects look like this

The saber stands are

The Phoenix

The Imperial Stand

Please note the sabers do not come with the stands!

Hope this helps and I look forward to seeing your Disciple in the future,

Oh wow that's pretty cool, so I can purchase different LEDs and just replace them with my standard one? Sounds pretty neat.

Hi again,

Yes, but you have to select Quick Connects when you make your order (costs a little more but gives you the option to change colours fairly quickly!) Any LED modules you purchase later also need the connectors on so remember to specify that when ordering them.

Glad I could help and I look forward to seeing more of your posts (and maybe some pics of your Disciple!)
