Hey all. I had some extra bucks a few months ago, so I ordered a warrior edition consular from the Etsy store. I ordered on Oct. 27, and the order was marked as "shipped" on Nov. 29, but has been sitting as "pre shipment info sent to USPS". No biggie, as they explain it will sit in this phase for a while.

Here lies my question. I came into some more cashola over the holidays, and really want sound in my saber - I want a champion edition. So, I emailed as well as messaged the etsy store. Responses are painfully slow, which I get is pretty normal, but I've had to go back and forth a few times. I feel like maybe people are pretty swamped and misunderstood what i was asking - now i have to wait several more days for a response. annoying.

Anyway, just wondering in your experience, is this a change I can even make? I'm obviously willing to pay for the upgrade, and an upgrade to warrior is something that is even offered on etsy now, but i wonder if they will still do it this "late" in the process. And almost worse than if they say no is if it totally re-sets the lead time. Ugh. Sucks. I wish i had the money for the champion edition from the get-go, as i definitely want the sound.

And in-case anyone is interested, the exact thing i want is actually listed on the store if you want to check it out. Weathered consular with yellow blade.

Thanks guys and happy to be a new member. Just really stressing over this. I want my "whoosh whoosh" sounds!

If for some reason it's too late for your saber, SF has a send in service to upgrade warrior sabers to champion sabers. It costs the same as the difference between a warrior and a champion.

They should be able to help you out if you contact them via etsy.

Your saber is actually probably very close to being in hand.
I ordered 1 on oct 24th and got it last week.

Hey halupki. Welcome to the forum.

Yours is a familiar story and I'm sure it's happening a lot over the last couple weeks.
As long as your hilt hasn't reached production yet, you should be able to request additional extras.
But being a while ago, it may be too late.
Like our friend Mihoshi has said, you can always return the warrior with payment and get the upgrade, or if you can't bear to be without it after getting your lovely new shiny, you can order the sound/electronics and do the install yourself if that's your sort of thing.

So, how challenging is it to install yourself? Soldering and all that involved?

Like most diy projects in theory it's not that hard but when you actually go to do it you realize there is a lot more to it than you may think, but in all reality no it isn't that hard

Gotta say, seeing a negative comment by LordPravus and then seeing it promptly removed, presumably by a mod, doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling as a new member. I'd rather see it addressed than deleted altogether.

Knytiri's been cracking down a bit harder than usual because of the influx of users... I've been here a few months and I've seen a decent amount of tolerance for criticism on the site. It's just how you go about it that's key; in this case, he seemed excessively salty in the recent change and the lack of immediacy in his refund (the recent response speed slowdown being understood). As a result he responded to a thread that had very little to do with his situation by a user new to the forums and the company. I think if he had created a new thread for the discussion of concerns regarding the 12W+ changes or approached it from any other way that didn't look like an attempt to directly influence a new customer's opinion on the company he would have been fine.

That said, a little more acknowledgement than "Hey, several of my replies are now missing and that guy's name is green in the 'Who is Online' section" would be nice.

That's fair. I was just hoping stuff wasn't getting swept under the rug.

Also, I'm not trying to be difficult, but can anyone reasonably explain the crazy response time even for emails? I'm in marketing at a pretty large company, and my inbox gets hit with hundreds of emails per day. If we took even longer than an hour to respond, we'd lose customers.

It's pretty simple, they get thousands of emails every day, and only have 1 person to respond.
They recently hired 2 new customer service reps and are training them.

In the last 7 months they have gone from filling 50-ish orders a day to nearly 400-ish a day.

They could be weekly but I seem to recall a post by the mods about a particular shipment that all went out in the same day that had over 100 sabers in it a couple of moths ago.

The sabers are sent out in batches either weekly or bi-weekly, IIRC.

Alright that makes sense. Again, wasn't trying to be a jerk, I just literally didn't know it was only one person.
