Sorry if these have been asked before but I just have a few questions before getting a SF light saber

1. If I get one of the Warrior sabers can this be upgraded with a soundboard later on and if so can I buy a SF soundboard separate or do they not sell individual soundboards.

2. I am not a fan of the infinity blade it's self. After doing research I found if you get a mirrored blade tip it fills out the whole blade evenly.

So a few questions are: can I get another blade from another company and will it fit in a SF light saber. Or can I just get a 3rd party blade tip and will it fit on the infinity edge.

3. If I understand the quick connect LED right, that just allows me to get new colors for my saber?

I believe that Is all. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

In short:

1. Yes, a warrior can be upgraded to have sound after the fact. It is not an inexpensive upgrade, and it is best done by someone familiar with the process. It can be sent back to SF for the upgrade, which would preserve the warranty, or to some of the talented smiths out there who do this sort of thing, which would not preserve the warranty.

2. I think you will find that the new 12w+ LEDs fill out an infinity edge blade pretty darned well. Mainly, because the individual dies are closer together than the regular 12w, and they are brighter. However, if you wanted to try a blade from another vendor, a standard 1" blade should work just fine.

3. The quick connect allows you to swap out the LED unit in your saber without having to cut wires, and solder them back together, thereby violating your warranty. They are a set of connectors on the wires leading to the LED unit, that snap together, and unsnap to allow for the easy swap. You just have to ensure that any extra LED units you buy, that you include the quick connect option on those as well. Typically adds a little to the price of the saber, and to the price of the individual LED units, but well worth it.

Guess that wasn't so short after all. ;)
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....

Hi deadxsilence,

As you are a new member may I point you towards the FAQ's and Forum Rules pages where a lot of your questions will be answered more fully, and help you get the most out of the site. Also you might like to announce yourself on the New Members Introduction thread so more folks know you've joined and will be able to help you too.
The link to the FAQ's is

In answer to your questions:

1) Yes Warrior tier Sabers can be upgraded and I believe the soundboard can be purchased separately, but SaberForge do provide a service to install upgrades at a later date.

2) Again yes you can use other brand blades as long as they are 1inch outside diameter size (unless it is a thin necked Saber like the Redeemer) However you would lose the threaded tip which prevents the tip from being lost whilst dueling!

3) When ordering your Saber you would have to purchase the Quick-Connect option to be installed into your Saber, afterwards you would then be able to purchase extra LED modules with Quick-Connections and swap them for the different colours.

Sorry for the long post but I hope it is of help to you!

Does anyone else's saber flash after they pull the kill key but before it says saber core? And if not would that be a loose wire or what?

Hi Tonz,

Congrats on getting your Epoch, just saw your other thread. Do you mean the AV switch flashes or the blade itself?

The AV switch on my Champion Disciple lights up a split second before the Boot up sound plays but the blade doesn't flash for reference.

Kind regards

Yes, sometimes the LED can flash when the kill key is pulled. That's fine.

Ok cool thanx for getting back to me guys I really appreciate it I have another quick question today. Would a light grit wet dry sandpaper work for buffing out small dings and scratches? If not what do you guys suggest?
