Hey everyone, wanting to know before I buy the new "chosen", tossing up between the 32' inch and 26'inch blade. Is the 26 too small or is it alright? Anyone got pics? Reason asking is because my room is very small and that's where I like to take it out and use it. Thanks

26 is considered to be a shoto length blade or a blade for a youngsters first saber. 37 is much more of a longsword length but it is a heavy blade that puts the balance point past the hilt of the saber which most people don't like. You also tend to lose some brightness towards the tip because of how far the light has to travel.

32 is generally considered to be the best of the three, offering a balance point that is usually at the end of the hilt, right at the base of the blade which is preferred for spinning, as well as a consistent brightness and color throughout the blade.

Maate..You're asking a personal preference question without specifics. Okay, so you've got a small room how is anyone supposed to know exactly how small this room is and whether its furnished, cluttered, ceiling height, space restricted etc. etc. If said room is where it's going to be taken out is the primary purpose for switch on/switch off, wall mounted, laid on bed, laid on floor, spinning, shadow dueling etc. etc. There's 6 inches between the 26 & 32 (not much). Depends on what hilt you've got or are going to get that'll contribute to the overall length including blade. Your height and reach are gonna be played also.
My suggestion, grab a measuring tape and mark out a paper towel cardboard core (or don't) that represents your hilt then add either 26 or 32 to it (less about 1.5-2 inches lost in blade holder of hilt) and gauge how much free movement you've got or are comfortable with.
26 vs 32 aside, as Kirabi said:
32 is generally considered to be the best of the three
this suggestion is agreed with. Besides, allow for the times when you take it outside with no ceiling restrictions and the skies the only limit.

I have both sizes 32" and 26".
The 32" to me feels like a "proper" length. Once in the blade socket and secured it turns out to be roughly a 30" blade which is similar to the length of a katana which is my measuring stick for any kind of sword. The thick walled V4 blade does have some weight to it so you may feel the balance point is slightly off and more up on to the blade than on the hilt.

Taking the weight of the V4 blade in to consideration really makes the 26" a great size. It brings the balance point back on to the hilt where it should be. The 6" shorter blade makes for great illumination all the way from base to tip. And the shorter blade also makes it extremely maneuverable when practicing spins.

Both sizes are great choices in my opinion. I think you'll be happy with the 26" of you have a smaller room and want to swing it around in there =)

My templar has a standard blade 37in and is 12W+ on the main emitter. There is a dimmer light towards the tip when it needs to be charged. This saber also shares side blades though. I have yet to compare 12+ with other sabers in person.

I also have a 32in blade and 12W+ on my crossguard seem to be evenly lit with this length in my opinion. 32in is a comfortable to weild and it looks proportionally "right" for anyone. The brightness also seem to be the one i expect with a lightsaber.

26in blade is definitely the size for youth, or for practice, or show & tell.

As stated in earlier topics about blade lenths, 37in seem to be nice for pics. 32in seem to be a nice balance of saberplay and pics + staff, 26in is nice for practice.

One standard 37in blade is all you really need if you settle for 32in blades. Just be sure to request the blade length if you order on etsy.

There are also blade combat/practice videos on youtube like
that compare blade lengths. I agree with him. There are also other blade reviews for brightness and other reviews for durability. Just for you to see the blade in action.

Thanks for the input guys...I too was a little indecisive on which blade length to get. I ordered a 37 but I'm gonna change that to a 32. I think it'll be much better when I'm indoors--plus I think the color will look better with the 32.

If you've already ordered your Hilt and specified either a 32 or 37 Blade, chances are to add an item onto the order may not be accommodated. Likely response from SF may be to raise either a separate order or (if only very recently placed) cancel and start again.
