So on Saberforge's Warranty form, one of the choices for "Where did you buy your product" is the Showroom. Can you actually buy a saber from the showroom, or no?

Yes you can and its by far the best way to do business with them at the moment!

Not only can you get your hands on actual sabers to see how they look and feel, you can walk out of there with one without having to wait 3 months!

If you live anywhere near that showroom I would definitely recommend going there to make your purchase! I'd be there in a heartbeat if I didn't live in the exact opposite corner of the country!

The showroom is display sabers only. You can go in, get a feel for them, see the colours and choose one. Then come back 3-4 days later and pick it up. Also depends on if they have parts readily available for a specific saber.

None of our leadtimes are at 3 months currently. We're at 6-8 weeks on both Etsy and the mainsite.

Sorry I specified in the other thread but not this one:

When I say three months, i'm adding all the time together.

6-8 week lead time. First I take the maximum 8 week just to be on the safe side and not set any unrealistic expectations for myself.

After the lead time it enters the build queue. From your FAQ sticky:

" It will take approx. 5 - 10 Business Days for the saber to be completed. Once the batch has been built, they will ship out"

So again I assume the maximum of 10 business days which = 2 weeks

After that its just a matter of shipping and pasting again from the FAQ:
"domestic shipping transit time is 2-3 business days, international shipping transit time is 5-10 business days"

so if in the USA then theres 3 business days max.

So all told thats at most 8 weeks +2 weeks+ 3 business days. So about 2 and a half months+ 3 days shipping. The remaining week and a half I just add on in case of any unforseen problems that delay the order.

I know that these are all the maximum possible times. I like to beat this schedule into my own head so that I'm expecting to wait this long. Then if it happens to come faster, I can be awesomely surprised and grateful for the speedy service!

So I guess it would be more accurate to say about 2 and a half months or less from order to delivery. I wasn't saying that 3 months was the "lead time" Sorry about the confusion.

When I went to the showroom, these were the options I was given:

1. You can buy one on the spot, but you are at the mercy of current selection.

2. You can select one to be upgraded to your specifications which takes 1 - 3 days maybe.

3. You can place a completely new order in person which will take 2 weeks or less to fulfill. This option can include sabers that aren't even on the main website.

I went with option 3 and it took them only 1 week to fulfill my order. Just keep in mind the showroom is very small and can get crowded.

Problem with that theory is that lead time is from time of order till received. So the 5-10 shipped status is in the estimated lead times. So in your worst case scenario that means your order would enter shipped status on week 6.

Now - this is not to say that ALL orders are going to take this EXACT time frame. There are situations where we do not have something in stock readily available and have to wait for parts of a specific nature to become available, and that can sometimes extend the lead time beyond primary estimations.

Wow! At some point when I first came onto the forums, someone explained this process incorrectly to me or perhaps even I myself just completely misunderstood. I had no idea that the "lead" time included everything from order to delivery. Thats awesome!

Well I feel so much better now. I'm just about to enter week 4 so that means that potentially i'm about halfway there! I thought I had two more months at least!

Thanks for this info Knytiri! This pretty much made my day.

I was just curious is the timeframe retroactive to an early order date or only towards an order placed currently? I'm pushing close to 11 weeks on etsy so I'm just wondering.

So am I in worst case scenario, cuz I'm on week 7 1/2 and my status hasn't changed from confirmed. But I'm a patient and understanding person and I know I'll get my saber eventually
