So I'm sitting here watching netlfix all day playing around with the ASP builder just for kicks and i come to a realization.....wouldn't it be just cool to have a saber hilt based on Doctor Who's sonic screwdriver? The question is, which sonic screwdriver would make the best hilt?

Hi Sleenas,

How about David Tennant's sonic, it has it's own crystal chamber already!

Only the thin neck ones (PS, Redeemer, Exhalted), IIRC?

Hi Slenaas,

I thought you meant just in general I didn't realise you wanted a duel ready screwdriver! Matt Smith/Peter Capaldi's has claws when extended, might be a possibility.

I think it wasn't the thin-neckiness so much as the way the crystal reveal chamber opens. The fixed crystal savers are fine to duel with. The mechanism there is the weak point. But only the thin-neck ones have that mechanism, so yeah you're correct.

...

For duel-readiness, the 11th's would probably work out the best. I think 12 now has a different screwdriver, but I forget what it looks like.

Hi all,

This is the 12th Doctor(Peter Capaldi, season/series 9) with the new Sonic Screwdriver.

I'm not sure this would make a good Saber design!

p.s I meant a crystal chamber like you get with the windowed emitters not the reveal models.

Yeah, can't see that working out well. The defining feature is the bit that would be replaced by a blade.
And I see where you're coming from with the crystal reveal vs crystal chamber.

Hi Ryan-Rising and Drej,

I didn't mention that video that came from a competitor Sabersmith, from New York I think, and I didn't want to advertise for them, haha.

If you were able to shrink the new screwdriver in size it might make an interesting component or "Greeblie".

Kind regards,

For Tyeth
