I have heard a number of times about people who wear their sabers in public on their hip as a fashion accessory. I'm a bit curious if we have anyone who has done this and is willing to share some of their experiences.

If possible I'd love to hear some story's about encounters you have had while wearing your sabers (or with those who do.)

I think it would also be beneficial to discuss expectations and some do's and don'ts of wearing your saber in public.

Hi Dav, Artair,

Well my Disciple has had two outings today due to the fire alarm being set off in my tower block, TWICE! I took my Saber with me on my trusty Covertech Clip. I also discovered a valid justification for owning a Saber should folks ask why you have one, they provide fantastic lighting to see where you're going in the dark!

So they are Fashionable and a Safety Device!

I wear mine at work on random Fridays. While it is hanging from my belt I don't get any comments, even wandering into restaurants.

I have gotten comments from Star Wars fans when I put the hilt on the table at a restaurant. It's always been positive.

The funny thing is when I let someone hold the hilt with power on. Most people need to be encouraged to swing it around. Every now and then someone just starts swinging it around. Either way they always have a smile on their face.

For those of you who wear it around do you usually keep a blade on hand or is a blade plug and imagination enough for most who 'get it'.

I love the idea of it being an ambassador of joy for those who notice and you allow to play with it. Making someone smile unexpectedly is a great thing.

If I'm going to "open carry" my saber, I usually keep my blades in the trunk of my car - especially since about half the time I wear it out I'm planning to practice later anyway. If someone is really interested and wants to see it, and I have time, I'll offer to go grab the blade and put it together.

Most of the time people don't comment, but I (unsurprisingly) got a lot of interest around the time Episode VII came out. :)

Haven't received my SF yet but with the anticipation and seemingly endless down time there is a strong probability that once held I won't want to set it down. Imagining by dream-bubble, a firm grip will clutch it as I brush my teeth, shower, drive and go about normal daily activity like it's glued on. Come sleep time, the bed may have a third occupant if the second doesn't challenge it.

These are common symptoms of Light Saber Owners Fever. It starts the moment you order, and never subsides from that moment on! :woohoo: B)
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....
