Hey everybody,

As I mentioned in a recent topic, I am new to the forum and recently purchased a Prodigal Son as my first saber. Now I know the kill key is now hidden in the activation box and I was wondering if the card that you open to access the kill key is loose. I am hearing conflicting stories. Some people say that the card feels clumsy and slides around a lot but I have heard others say it locks nicely. It's not a super super big deal, but I'm just curious.

Thanks for any help!

I'm not very familiar with thin-neck sabers but, if my memory serves me correctly, they have corrected the issue were it was loose, now I think it stays in snuggly in the slot. Perhaps someone with a thin-neck can clarify this for me?
Light and darkness, you cannot have one without the other. To achieve equilibriem you must be in harmony with both; the path between.

That would be awesome if true. Thanks greyjediDude!

Any chance SF is going to make the red/green arrows on the control box light up one day? That's something that I am seeing quite a bit on reviews of the Prodigal Son saber.

I sure hope so. That'd be awesome.

Ya know, at first mine stayed in relatively well, but after a few cosplays it got really loose... like I would just have it at my side and the card would slide halfway down the box.

It won't slide all the way out, there are little plastic areas underneath that protrude out to let it only slide out halfway (so you can get the kill key) but unfortunately it seems that these are built too thin to stay in firmly. I've been putting a little fold of electrical tape underneath and its just fine. Its sad to rig it like that, but its not noticeable at all so no biggie I guess.

Thanks for the info bro2044! It's such a beautiful saber and I'm getting so close to it going into the building stage. Can't wait, the anticipation is real. I'm hoping that that particular issue is resolved by now but I guess we shall see. Thanks for taking the time to let me know!

Found this on YouTube. I know the Prodigal Son control box has gone through a couple alterations (all good ones) and this could be one that would be welcomed. The SF saber is almost perfect but I mainly posted this because I would love to see the red and green arrows actually light up! So we see here it can be done. Although, considering I just purchased mine, I hope that I could get this feature added at some point rather than have to buy another one. Mailing it back and paying for the alteration would be a no brainer!

I would most definitely pay extra for that if the time came!

Bro 2044 - thats a truly epic set up. Stunning.

I was a little concerned with this too (redeemer on order), but I like the suggestion of tape behind the plate to bulk it out.

Thanks!!! Yeh, I was a little concerned about the money put into some of it, but dammit I'm 35 and I had a bit and wanted a proper setup, heh. The thing is, people act like they're teasing me when they talk about my SW addiction, but then they see my setup and I swear no matter the girl or boy... its like... respect. ha!

The idea of the card sliding bothers me more than when it actually happens, but it also seems like something that could be easily addressed in future PS builds. I think people who attempt dueling with it would feel a little more irritation, but mine mainly sits on display.

bro2044 - I saw your YouTube video, loved it. Really helped me make my decision! Aside from the fact that the ROTJ hilt is by far my favorite of course. Love the setup by the way, I'm a guitarist myself, and plan on putting my saber on display. Thanks for the all the information!

Thanks for the electrical tape suggestion, it really does help keep the activation box panel from sliding.

It's surprising how nimble one has to be to get the folded piece of electrical tape behind the panel; it was much more difficult than I thought!
