Are you the Captain America shield Chris Fields? Lol

That is me :)

Awesome Chris, can't wait to see you wield the lightsaber with your shield lol.

Congrats on picking up the PS, it's probably one of their best sabers for sure.

Thanks NeBosa,

I just thought I'd clarify, plus it gave me a reason to fire up the Bal'demnian Blade again!

Kind regards

For Tyeth

Clarity is always good and I appreciate the correction on my mix up.

Who actually needs a reason to ignite a saber?
I constantly fire up mine randomly just because I can lol

Hi again,

I've mentioned elsewherel I'm on the appraoch path to an airport soo I've gotta be careful, top floor of a high rise block of flats and all!

I don't want to divert traffic, I might upset the Sith Count (forum member I think) who lives nearby the airport also!

Yeah I see how that could get awfully messy waving something around that bright near an airport. Better to err on the side of caution For. :P

Hi Greysider,

There's actually two airports, one to the east called Humberside Airport and to the west there's Robin Hood East Midlands (near Count_Arkanus)! The local Police Helicopter flies from Humberside as well.

I hate to alter the subject, but I noticed that the Prodigal Son body uses a D-Ring rather than a Covertech knob while fiddling around with my saber on Saberparts. I find Covertech clips to be far superior in terms of saber quick draw, and I was wondering if there is an option for a Covertech clip on the PS. Otherwise, I gotta rethink my ASP design.

Really? I would've thought the D-ring was faster.

The Redeemer body is similarly proportioned but comes with a covertec wheel by default, if that helps any.

Depends on where you hook it, I suppose. Anyways, does it come with that option?

As far as I know there is no way to alter this on the regular PS emitter. Its done for movie accuracy I guess, since its the only one that comes with the tri-ring (shouldn't be a D-ring, but very close of course).

I'm sure that a custom request could be done to do the covertech knob on the opposite side of the control box (GLORIOUS, because then the box wouldn't hit my leg anymore!) but I haven't seen any like that.

@Eddlyss64

To replace Tri-Ring (T-R) with Covertech (CT),
-Etsy, highly unlikely
-Main site, unlikely
-Justin via Customs Shop, probable
-Adding your own by drilling a hole, plausible

(*Control Box Type, Grenade Grip & Emitter) are the main points of difference between Redeemer & PS (there's also the lower grip section). The Redeemer has a Covertech and the route you're exploring is less-hassle & logical [i.e. swapping clip type on PS] rather swapping (*) on a Redeemer. Even though T-R to CT seems minor, other than doing it yourself Justin may be the only option.

Unsure of the Hilt anatomy/assembly, the lower grip part with CT on a Redeemer whether its separate to switch box part or all one piece. If separate, I wonder if requesting a Redeemer lower grip section on a PS is achievable? But that seems to alter the PS appearance too dramatically, where as what you want to do is just ring to wheel. IDK.. Even if you emailed SF, am inclined to believe it'd be put in too-hard-basket and refer you to Customs.

*Maybe hit-up NeBosa or wait for his chime-in? Last read showed some pretty ingenious mods to his Mauler Kill key and his Thin neck plug.

This is my ASP saber.

http://www.saberparts.com/#/configure?code=4.127.1.0-3.101.1.0-2.75.1.0-1.27.1.0-7.152.15.0-6.147.3.0-5.143.0.0-8.154.0.0

Think I could order the PS body part separately from the rest of the build and request for the replacement between CT and TR? Or even request the change when I order my entire ASP saber?

Hi Eddlyss64,

Just looked over your design and I made a few observations you may want to consider, I have an illustration for you:

1) The covertech may be difficult to mount on the pommel in the red zone I have drawn, unless it can be attached to the pommel on the face of one of the raised blocks, marked with orange arrow.

2) If the covertech is placed on the body section of the pommel, in the yellow circled zone you would need to make sure it was attached nearer to the emitter end of the saber to allow the hilt to swing freely without the raised block section obstructing it. Mounting the covertech at the point marked by the blue arrow may give the clearance so the saber can swing (making sitting down with hilt on belt easier)

Just a couple of things I noticed which I hope help,

For Tyeth

ps Sorry for hijacking your thread Nebosa. (I will delete my post if you want)

In your experience, can sections of a thread be removed and recreated in the appropriate section? Hate for this exchange to shadow the very purpose of OPs Topic Post as a PS Review.

Aren't CT's tapered on underside preventing attachment to a flat surface like ridges on pommel?

Yes OvrcAHst,

Only Moderators (The Big Red One) can move threads or post if I remember correctly but I can delete my posts off this thread if Nebosa would like me to, no problem.

You are correct unless you can either flatten the rear face of the covertech, or round off the face of the block on the pommel.
Either way has it's associated problems. This was the problem I was high lighting.
I also wanted to point out that those very blocks could obstruct the hilt from swinging if the CT was attached on the body too close to them.

Thanks,

For Tyeth

Just to clarify,
Yes. You can choose the covertech instead of the tri-ring if you note the scroll down menu

No apologies necessary for jacking the thread.

Thanks all of you guys! (And sorry for making this a big deal NeBosa)

@Ovrcahst Exactly what For Tyeth posted in the picture, yes.

With all this in mind, anyone know what the PS body would look like with a CT knob?

Couldn't find any references to one specifically but I'd imagine it would be identical to placement and position of a Redeemer.

Found this on a weathered version. It resembles a kill-key, I guess it'd be the best reference.

I agree that it would most likely be the way the Redeemer is shown.
The picture above of the PS with the kill key is because originally the PS didn't have a sliding card with hidden kill key so they had to install one on the body in the same manner as the Redeemer.
