Hi everyone. I just ordered my first saber: Consular 6w Warrior green. I intend to buy another color later on in 12w. I've read on here that the only thing that needs to change when going to 12w is changing out the battery holder to one for a 18650 cell.

I already have a 18650 cell from the flashlights I have, so I was thinking that I should be able to go ahead and put in the holder for the 18650 and it should be fine to use it with the 6w module. It would just give it a longer run time. Is my thinking correct on that?

In fact, could I request that they go ahead and put in the 18650 holder at the shop?

I think it should be possible, but they would probably have to play around with the resistances on the module to achieve proper brightness (you'd be going from ~4.5V to ~3.7V). They may have some available already for use with the crossguard sabers or they may not even need to make other changes; I'd send an email just to check.

Per the SF Accessory page, all 6W and 12W LEDs are resistored in such a way to accept 3.7-4.5v input. It should just be a drop-in replacement.
