I purchased a Consular Champion through the Etsy page last July and it has developed a problem.

The sound level and brightness of the LED's fluctuates and I have traced the problem to the contact inside the recharge port, as I can make the issue disappear by jiggling the kill key in the port a few times.

I assumed dirt & oil build-up inside has caused the problem, but attempts at clearing it up using switch cleaner have not been successful.

This leads me to further assume bad contact because the "springiness" of the contact has deteriorated and it is just no longer capable of making a good connection.

Swapping it out is straightforward as I can see it's just a 3 contact solder job. I work in electronics and I am more than capable of sorting this out myself.

I mailed saberforge sales asking where a replacement port could be obtained and regrettably just got a stock reply offering to repair it under warranty, which as a UK resident is cost-prohibitive for a simple fix, due to shipping fees and possible import duty & fees when it is returned. The component is low cost I imagine.

Anyone got any ideas of a source?

Have you tried looking at The Custom Saber Shop? They have a wide selection of various saber components, might be worth a look!

Here's the kind SF uses:

TCSS only carries a Switchcraft brand port, and while it would work, it would take some work getting it to fit in the existing hole in the hilt (which is much larger).

@Jaden Korr

If one were to make his/her own recharge port, would this piece be a
Essential? Sorry, I'm a noob at saber construction, and I'm trying to learn as much about the components as possible. Going to attempt to transfer my obsidian board and LED to SF hilt, and I would like to add a recharge port and kill key so that I don't have to remove the batteries.

That piece is the whole recharge port.
