The last time I took one apart, I broke my lightsaber and had to send it back in for repair. But that's not very encouraging, is it?

In order to get inside the lightsaber, you'll need to unscrew the pommel. Since yours is a Champion edition lightsaber, you may have a C-ring holding in the speaker, so you'll need to get some needle-nose pliers or the like to take that out. Then, you'll have full access to the internals.

However, this isn't very much access. The Apprentice Tier sabers, such as your Acolyte, are made of two parts: body and pommel. This means that it's going to be difficult to maneuver things around, especially the switch and recharge port. But if you feel confident enough in your abilites, such as cram-fu, soldering, and plan where things need to be and how to get them there, go for it!

Also, I notice this is your first post. Why don't you introduce yourself to our community in the New Member Introduction Thread, and acquaint yourself with the FAQ and Forum Rules?

We here at SaberForge Forum want to make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible, but we can only do so if you follow the rules.

I ordered a pre-wired NB, because I haven't sodered in about 3 years, so I don't trust myself with that. I also ordered my saber off ebay, so if I did mess up, I have no idea if there is a warranty on it still or not. That being said, I hope I didn't waste my money if I can't get to the internals.

Okay. Lemme throw down a few bullet points.
• If you are planning to modify the saber, you're going to be voiding the warranty anyway, so it doesn't matter if it's covered right now. Read all about it here.
• The pre-wired Nano Biscotte is only really good for your purposes because you don't have to solder to the board. Unfortunately, the connectors on that board aren't compatible with the kind of connectors SF uses, and the SF connectors aren't installed in the hilt anyway, only for the LED if the saber has quick connects.
• If you still want to go through with this, please try to practice your soldering and see if you can't bring your skills back. You're going to need to solder to get this done.

By the way, what is the power of the LED on your hilt? 6w or 12w? I ask because, as mentioned in this great breakdown by Kouri, the Nano Biscotte can only fully power a 6w or 6w+ module.

Do warranties even transfer between owners? No way to track it if you don't know the original order.

If you've got a champion already, why are you changing to the NB? Champions come with sound.

By the way, I know this is a bit of a derail on this thread, but the motion detection on the NB is better than on Sabercore, right?

I know the differences :P Was seeing if that's what he wanted or if there's something different.
