Lurking noob in need of help...

Recently received a 3up Cree XPE2 Green LED, in hopes of replacing a Tri-Blazing Red LED. What I didn't know was that I inadvertently selected this LED to be wired IN SERIES. It's done in a way that I don't think I can separate them to run parallel.

Forward voltage:

@350mA: 3.2 to 3.8 max
@1000mA: 3.7 volts

At first, I tried powering this with just 4AAA alkalines. Of course it barely gave off a glow.

From what I think I understand, since its "in series" it requires in the neighborhood of 11volts to light up?

What battery/batteries (and resistor?) would provide the power needed?

Did you get the LED from LEDsupply? Or at least do the jumpers look like this?

If so, forum member Kouri mentioned in this LED thread how he dealt with this:
I've tried desoldering the jumpers whole without luck. I wound up taking needle-nose pliers and crushing the center ceramic (each jumper is basically a 0-ohm resistor). Afterward, the leftover pins are easy to desolder from the LED contacts.

Was going to comment, but then apparently did with a bit of time travel. *thumbs up*

Yup, LED Supply... File won't upload, but that's the LED I have, with a wire going to each of the open + and - spots.

Oh, guess it will load:

I see the jumpers. Guess I need to break them or decide to go with an 11.1V LiPo battery. Found one that will fit in a hilt, but not sure about resisting it. This is a stunt saber, no sound.
