My son was talking about how he wished he would have bought the 12w+ version of the lime green.

I asked saberforge about price if they would do it, but they never answered.

Wondering if it would be hard to do myself.

What would be the procedure on a Disciple?

Can't contribute to the actual surgery of the LED Module because I'm a Doofus. Have you thought maybe a Day Blade for your Son? July 4th Promo is still current and from Etsy you'd get it delivered in very little time.

Is the saber warrior or champion tier? 6w Warriors run on 3 AAAs while 12w run on a single 18650, so it would require a completely different holder.

In any case you'll have to do some soldering, because you'll have to cut the wires connecting the old LED to the rest of the electronics and attach the wires from the new LED (which requires solder and heat shrink to prevent any shorts in the circuit).

I just had this done to my prodigal son that was 6 watt. Contact India at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and she will tell you what you need to do. My saber was already champion tier so all I had to do was buy a 50$ gift certificate and email the order# to India. Then filled out the RMA with the gift certificate order # on it and sent it off. Its on its way back to me now in all its 12 watt goodness.

Warrior tier.

I shot India another email. If its not too pricey, I will send it in.

Does anyone know where I can buy the QD that Saberforge uses?

If you are talking about quick connects, they use Dean's micro plugs. Plenty of places online have them, but I got mine from Vortex Hobbies. You'll want the ones like what I linked to, since the prong setup makes it impossible to accidentally connect them together incorrectly.

Another question. I have an old Ultrasaber I was thinking about modding to 18650 battery. I bought a few QD and 2 sleds for the switch of my son's.

Wondering if it would hurt if I used the 18650 with the LED that came with the US, or the 6 watt that my son will not need?

To get an Ultrasaber to work with an 18650, you'll need to replace the existing resistor or buckpuck with a different resistor or LED Driver that's designed for a 3.7v cell, or else you'll be running a dim blade.

Thinking about actually putting the SF 6w+ in the US chassis. Wondering if the 18650 will harm the 6w.

All SF LEDs, 6W and 12W, are resisted for 3.7v batteries like 18650s. I imagine the main reason the 6W LEDs don't burn out on the default 4.5v alkaline packs is because AAA batteries have such a low output current.
