So ive had my disciple for a while now and have fiddled with upgrading to 12+ but that is as simple as it come. I wanted to make the leap to a viridium soundboard. What all would i need to purchase for this? I know i need the board and upgrade to a new battery. I think i need another switch of some sort. Do i need any resistors or anything like that? Last thing i want to do is fry everything. And also where would i buy this stuff? I havent seen anything really on this site.

Hey Ragnar,

For a Champion level build you're describing, you'd need a few things:

- One 18650 Battery with a sizable current draw limit.
- A 12W+ LED module. Red and Amber LEDs require resistors, but Saberforge modules come preresistored so not too much hassle. If building from the ground up you'll need a heat sink module, resistors, an LED star, and a focusing lens.
- The Viridium Soundboard
- A 28mm Speaker (2W or 4W)
- A momentary switch, and a resistor or dynaohm 20mA driver if the switch is lit.
- If in-hilt recharge is desired, a 12mm recharge port
- Miscellaneous 26/28AWG Wire
- If you don't have a chassis, something to secure the internals within the hilt.

For places to buy, Saberforge just launched a shop for DIY electronics at shopsaberparts.com that includes basically everything you would need (aside from resistors). Other than that I'd recommend The Custom Saber Shop for parts and the Saberforge main site for 18650 cells. For resistors I'm typically using Digikey or Mouser, but shipping costs there are usually intended for ordering in bulk.

Others may have more input, but this is my knowledge on the matter right now.

Ok so on average do you know how much an upgrade like this would cost?
