Hi. I have been searching the forum and YouTube, and cannot find any info. My NEC Spark 2 is simple. Running on only one momentary switch, and basic wiring.

My question is, since running on only one momentary switch, I am assuming that once I power up, I am running on Font 1? How do I go to Font 2, 3, or 4?

Also, I do not understand the threshold acronyms on the Config Editor. I move the slides or values, but it doesn't seem to do much. My goal is to increase volume, and increase sensitivity.

Any help appreciated.

You will go to font 1 when you insert the battery and power up. To go to different fonts with one switch, insert the battery/remove kill plug if you have one, gently twist/rotate the saber twice. The saber will announce the current font on the first twist and, on the second twist, it will go to the next font. Repeat twisting until you hear the font you want then power it on.

NOTE: Ensure you select "single button/one button" option in the config editor and save it to your card according to the manual. This should enable the twist function.

As far as the threshold acronyms are concerned, when on the specific setting in the config editor, there is an explanation of it in the lower right corner of the window. Clicking or tabbing to the other thresholds will, of course, display different explanations in the box.

To increase the volume and sensitivity, ensure the saber is off. Hold the button for two or more seconds. This will take you to the "onboard menu" with a voice that tells you what setting you are on. Press the button to change the value/hold the button to move to the next setting.

There is a lot of information in the manual. You can download it from Naigon's website. Link is down the right side of the web page.

Hope this helps.

Hi RichellM, thanks for the help. I had totally missed the twisting of the saber for the fonts on the manual.

I did go to the Config Editor, and saw the descriptions you mentioned. Thanks.

The only thing I have not been able to get is the voice menu you mentioned, the same one I have on my factory built Saberforge Sabers, so not sure if I am missing something. Or if everytime I need to change something I have to take the SD card out to reprogram. If I depress the button for 2-5 seconds, the saber goes into running mode, then shut down mode.

Your welcome. I apologize about the last issue. I confused the SF soundboard directions with the Spark 2...senior moment, brain fart, etc. Sorry. You are correct, if you want to change anything, you will have to pull out the SD card.

I got to tell you, your reply has to be one of the best pieces of help I have seen. Clear, no confusion, to the point. It really helps noobies like us to understand without getting to technical.

RichellM, UPDATE

Through everything I have done, I regret not getting the hole done for a recharge port. Pulling in and out the battery and soundboard is a pain on the Exhalted. The space is just barely tolerable. I might send my body to SF for them to do all of the electronics plus recharge port.

My other issue is with the Editor. Every time I set the brightness of the LED to 99, it seems to go back to 75%. Would you know what is causing this? I save the file at 99%, but when I open the file again it reads 75%

I have experienced that, too and I don't know why. Maybe a safety feature of the Editor? I set it at 98% and it stayed...or maybe it was 96%, I can't remember. Give it try...
