I'd like to make a thread similar to Kouri's soundboard breakdown, but for soundfonts, since the descriptions of them on saberfont.com can be lacking. Basically, I'd like to list the type of board its optimized for, the soundfont creator, the amount and type of each sound included (perhaps with a short description if noteworthy), where it can be purchased, and maybe a link to a preview video if available.

I'll start with the ones I own:

Achluophobia
"The Fear of Darkness. This font creates a distorted, damaged sith blade, with well defined swings. Dark, Darker, Sith."
Creator:Lord Blako
Available for: Plecter Labs and NEC
Where to Purchase: saberfont.com
Price: $6

Plecter Labs version contains:
(Will fill this in when I get access to the computer I downloaded it on, since saberfont.com isn't letting me redownload it)

Preview Video:

Form VI: Niman
"What's important now, is that you leave your past behind." - Satele Shan SWTOR Online. In this form you will learn from Grand Master Satele Shan and Starkiller. Satele takes a more understanding approach while Starkiller is very frustrated with you! This form is the only one which simulates dual wielding! Enjoy!"

Creator: Link (as part of a collaboration between several sound font makers, including LordBlako and Machinimax)
Available for: Plecter Labs and NEC
Where to Purchase: saberfont.com
Price: $6.50

NEC version contains:
-6 blaster block sounds
  • Includes the sound of the blaster as well as the sound of the bolts being deflected a few moments later.
  • Several include multiple shots being fired and then deflected
  • Two seemed to be mislabeled, as they are "whoosh" sounds
-16 clashes (very quick/sharp)
-Root font sound ("Form 6--Niman" spoken by computer voice)
-Saber hum
-2 saber retractions
-Blade lockup
-5 saber ignitions
  • As the description stated, this font is supposed to simulate dual wielding, so the first 4 ignition sounds have 2 sabers being ignited, one after the other in quick succession, while the fifth has one ignite, then swing, followed by the second ignition.
  • Unfortunately, there is no single saber ignition sound, which is odd considering Niman practitioners didn't just use Jar'Kai and saber staffs.
-16 swings (quick and decisive)
-"Extras" folder (containing 2 alternative blaster blocks and a mind trick sound)
-"Mentors" folder (containing 8 voice lines from Satele Shan and 41 from Galen Marak a.k.a Starkiller). These are listed as "FX" sounds due to their naming convention. Only the NEC Igniter board utilizes these, but they can be renamed as clash, swing or blaster sounds to be used with the Spark or Spark Color boards, or even mixed into those sounds using a program like Audacity. The voice lines are separated by character, so if you want to use lines from both of them you'll have to renumber them (so there isn't 2 fx01.wav files, etc).

The Satele voice lines sound as if they were recorded from a video of SWTOR gameplay, as they contain background music, comlink sound effects, and some audio compression. Included voice lines are:
  • "Don't let the urgency of the moment blind you to other paths"
  • "Emotions like fear and anger lead to the dark side"
  • "Humility will be a hard lesson for you, but I'm satisfied."
  • "And may the Force be with you."
  • "There is no emotion; only peace."
  • "This is why Jedi enter battles calmly; with reason."
  • "Welcome Padawan."
  • "What's important now is that you leave your past behind."

The Starkiller voice lines sound as if they were taking directly from the audio files of the TFU games, with no other competing sounds. While some lines fit the theme of the user learning from Starkiller, many of the included lines don't make any sense in this context. Voice line examples include (no I'm not going to type out all 41 of them):
  • "You gotta be kidding me"
  • "What the hell is that?"
  • "Yes" (menacingly)
  • "We're not going to survive this, are we?"
  • "This place is crawling with droids!"
  • "I'm wasting my time."
  • 'Face me you coward!"
  • "Get out of my sight!
  • "Hate for his weaknesses...disgust for his failings...and pride, for rising above them."
  • "I feel...nothing."
  • "He's cloned an army."
  • "I will not fail you."

Graflex TFA HD
Made using sounds ripped directly from Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
Creator: Shameem Moshrefzadeh
Available for:Plecter Labs and NEC
Where to Purchase: Directly from Shameem, saberfont.com
Price: $9

Plecter Labs version contains:
-4 blaster blocks
-5 boot sounds
  • "I need a weapon!" "You have one!"
  • "The belonging you seek..."
  • "Close your eyes...feel it..."
  • "Come get it!"
  • "You have that power too."
-22 clashes (includes saber on saber and saber on riot baton sounds)
-Color shift sound (Rey's theme)
-4 Combo sounds (all are just more swings and clashes, which is weird)
-Root font sound (a Daisy Ridley-esqe computer voice saying "Graflex TFA HD"
-2 force sounds
  • Rey resisting Kylo's mind probe
  • Force push
-hum
-lockup
-saber retraction
-4 igniton sounds
-fast ignition and retraction
-4 spins (utilized by Crystal Focus only)
-4 stabs (reused short swings)
-18 swings

Preview video:

The Old Republic - Knights of the Fallen Empire
"This font is inspired by the "The Old Republic Knights of the Fallen Empire"- Teaser "Sacrifice." The font comes with two different swing sets- one for the darkness and one for the light."

Creator: Lord Blako
Available for: Plecter Labs and NEC
Where to Purchase: saberfont.com
Price: $6.50

NEC version contains:
-4 blaster blocks
-boot sound (a mechanical sound)
-16 clashes
  • A few of them seem to be more of a saber clashing into the something in the environment, as opposed to another saber
-font selection sound (Computer voice saying the name of the font)
-saber hum
-2 retractions
-saber lockup
  • It's a more subdued lockup, but I think it works for this font
-a file labeled "multi", which is the opening line from the "Sacrifice" trailer
-5 ignitions
  • Each are unique, giving you a few options
-4 slashes
-20 swings
  • Like the description says, there are both light side and dark side oriented swing options, but its up to you to decipher which is which
  • The last 4 swings include multiple swings sounds in the same file, which would seem weird if trigged when you make a single swing motion with the saber
Preview Video:

Shatterpoint
"This light side soundfont captures the aggressive nature of the lightsaber form Vaapad, and its creator Mace Windu. The hum is more subtle to accentuate the more verbose and aggressive swing sounds. The blaster block sounds are from the arena battle scene with Jango Fett."

Creator: Rob "Madcow" Petkau
Available for: Plecter Labs (optimized for Crystal Focus 7)
Where to Purchase: saberfont.com
Price: $7

Plecter Labs version contains:
- 4 blaster blocks
- boot sound ("This party's over" line from AOTC)
- 16 clashes
- 4 combo sounds (several sound clips from the films)
- font name (modulated computer voice saying "Shatterpoint")
- 2 Force sounds
  • The first sounds like Mace deflecting Force lightning
  • The second is Mace shattering the window in Palpatine's office
- Saber hum (low and subdued)
- Lockup
- 2 retractions
- 5 ignitions (dependent on the orientation of the saber on the CF board)
- 4 spins (CF only)
- 4 stabs (CF only)
- 16 swings

Also includes a folder with 4 additional blaster blocks, a clash, a louder hum,and a menu file for older CF boards

Preview Video: * This video is from when the font was originally created in 2010. Madcow has updated and added to it since then (as he does with all his fonts).

Unhinged
"Want to completely lose it? Then this is the darkside soundfont for you. Inspired by the sound and feel of Kylo Ren's lightsaber in the Force Awakens."

Creator: Rob "Madcow" Petkau
Available for: Plecter Labs (optimized for Crystal Focus 8 )
Where to Purchase: saberfont.com
Price: $7

Plecter Labs version contains:
- 4 blaster blocks
- boot sound (A mechanical sound that is almost like a wooden floorboard creaking)
- 16 clashes
- Color shift sound
- 4 combo sounds (various Kylo Ren quotes)
- font name (voice saying "Unhinged")
- 2 Force sounds
  • The first is the "I'll show you the Dark side" Kylo quote
  • The second, if I had to guess, Is Kylo stabbing Han
- Saber hum (the main attraction of the font; very reminiscent of Kylo's saber but distinct in its own right)
- Lockup
- 2 retractions
- 5 ignitions (dependent on the orientation of the saber on the Crystal Focus board)
- 4 spins (CF only)
- 4 stabs (CF only)
- 16 swings

Added Form VI: Niman by Link. I'll use this as a "reserved" post in case the first one gets too long.

Feel free to post the fonts you own here as well!

I received this as a recent addition..
..but running on a Crystal Shard3.0 instead of the demonstrated Crystal Focus8. :)

I haven't gone through all my Fonts yet, specifically the names and who they're by. There is another which (I believe) is also a Kylo inspired Font (but the name escapes me, I wanna say Shattered or Shadow or something along those lines  ) that I run as first option on my Infinium Zero and Wrath. The initial (random) boot sound has Kylo speaking "There has been an Awakening.." and the ignition features a delayed startup after an initial burst with a deep throaty hum, this on the CF7.5 Infinium and not for the CS3 Wrath, which jumps straight to it. Apologies for being so vague but I just don't know.

Woah woah woah hold on a sec. OvrcAHst, how did you get that Unhinged font? I've been waiting for that thing to be released since July haha. Did it come with a GCS saber? I ordered an Ascend recently and I hope it comes on it...

B) It was an included Font. Thing is, I asked the Question and Rob answered: Okay, and yep with a GCS Saber but not Ascend, awesome saber (shared it here a while back) and wasn't looking at getting a second. I have confidence in with you loving Ascend when you get it. Pretty sure the stock Fonts are: Korriban, Bespin & Rogue (unless the lineup's changed).

Sooooo much better in person, it's spine-tingling. The idle hum is like nothing I've heard before. DJ Rob mixes some pretty awesome Fonts and this one is no exception. :)

My background is audio/music production and sound engineering, so I've long had this idea for months now and I started on it a little bit, but now that my hilt is more or less finished I was finally able to test it out. Finally I can put some of my skills into action and contribute to the community. Any feedback is appreciated! This is my first saberfont. I apologize ahead of time for the excessive clashes and sparse swings, my hilt still doesn't have a proper chassis and so the sensitivity is all off as things are a little loose inside.

I love it! If I am ever able to get around to making my Portal saber (SF Viper, with white powdercoating on the silver bits and black claws), I know who to get the soundfont from!

They've been put on the back burner for now, but I was working on a font using files ripped from Jedi Academy, as well as a completely custom one.

By the way, anybody looking for some cool boot up sounds should check out Madcow's "Boots to the Head" download from saberfont.com. It contains a bunch of mechanical and electronic boot sounds, should you want to swap out any of the ones on your existing fonts.

Shameem also recently released a boot package for free on his Facebook page, and it has lines from all the SW films, TCW/Rebels, some of the games, and some non-SW lines as well.

I've sent it to Saberfont.com who told me to email it to their sales email, which I did. But haven't received a response yet. It's been more than 10 business days (how long it stated to expect to wait before getting a response on its old webstore). If I don't get a response within another week I'll email them again. They could just be busy.

In the meantime, I suppose I could sell it myself individually until it's available if someone wants to pay by Paypal. Just PM me? I can send it by email or send a temporary dropbox link. I'm thinking $4 since it's my first font and it's for the NB (only has 20 sounds, I plan to add support for more boards though and release a newer version).

Is it possible to take a PL optimized font (unhinged for instance) and use it on an NEC board?

My guess is yes, just curious as to how well that would work and what if any "fiddling" around would be required?

I'm still not 100% sure of all the differences of the various boards, but from what I understand and have heard that NEC boards play a constant hum sound effect in the background while separate swing and clash sounds are played on top. For Plector boards there is a hum sound that loops but it is interrupted by other sounds like clashes, swing, etc so the hum sound has to actually be in each clash and swing etc sound effects or it'll sound like the hum has stopped.

My saberfont was made for the NB (because that's all I have so far) so the hum is in every sound effect. I'd need to make alternate versions of the clashes/swings without the hum for it to sound proper on an NEC board.

Is there a default NEC soundfont set somewhere that you can download for free? If there is I can make an NEC version no problem.

Just download one of the "Default files" sets here: http://www.saberigniter.com/downloads.aspx

Excellent. I'll do that for the other boards too. Of course, I can't really test it until I get the boards myself. I can test the NEC one, though, when my wife's Jade Fire gets here.

Added The Old Republic - Knights of the Fallen Empire by Lord Blako.

Saberfont.com did get an update recently that added several fonts from Shameem and Lord Blako, as well as a bunch of classic ones from Novastar.

I wish that Unhinged font had an NEC version.... Shameen has the TFA Ren HD font for NEC which is awesome, but that unhinged font is soooooooooo sexy.
