Hello SaberForge Forum!
I just ordered my first saber. (A Champion Tier Sentinel in Deep Blue).
Anyway, I saw the charger they provide plugs into a wall plug (as would be expected.)
While this isn't a problem I was curious for various reasons, such as charging in a car on a road trip, if it is possible to get your hands on or to find a way to charge a Champion Tier saber via a USB Port. After brief research, I didn't find much. So if someone could direct me to a charger, or explain the viability or possibility (or lack thereof) of this, I would be very grateful.

How about a car DC to AC adapter?

There are 5v -> Lithium-Ion step-down boards available. Got one I've been meaning to tinker with. Could either stuff one into a saber hilt so the saber itself charges via USB, or stick it in between a 2.1mm male port and USB female to make an adapter cable.

While both may be viable options, neither are quite what I'm looking for. The second one is just more work than the outcome is worth to me. The first one, although that would allow car charging, I was hoping to also be able to do it simply via a USB port for other mobile options. I was wondering if there's simply a
USB
Champion Recharge Cable wire.
Thank you all for your help though.

So, I have found a few USB--->5V 2.1mm Chargers.
However, I know the wall plugs are 3.7V and 3A. I'm assuming they aren't compatible?

They're not. The voltage is too high for the battery (charges at 4.2v).

The second option is what you're after - home made adapter cable. I forget who, but I saw a guy in one of the Facebook groups selling premade cables for around $25. Perhaps you could find him with a google search.

One last option - doesn't matter too much on stunt sabers, but most of these 3.7v boards have a max voltage tolerance of about 5.5v. You'd be fine replacing the 18650 with a 5v power bank, so long as you redo LED resistors. There are some 2.5A banks that *just* fit in MHS hilts. Dunno if there are any small enough for SD bodies. The 1A sticks would basically limit you to a single-Cree star.
