Dude!

You keep this kind of work up and Phil may just have to hire you. :)

I grew up drawing and as a thinker. I have a degree in art and design though I haven't worked with drafting in years and years, nor art for that matter as I left the design industry and recently became a certified heavy equipment mechanic. So I pull wrenches instead of create art now, but my background makes it easy for me to mix art and design, then do the work involved. Especially when it comes to modifying the creations of others as I don't have the equipment to create my own from scratch. I have the skills to solder as well, but for some reason I continue to shy away (confidence?) from doing my own installs but definitely believe I have the skill to do it.

I'm only a 15hr drive away from Portland (and a border crossing from Canada to US) lol

I'm in the Midwest, so you're probably closer than I am!
:P
I've got an Ultrasabers blade plug that fits into the emitter of my Sentinel up until 1cm of the plug sticks out. All I really need to do is sand it down a bit?

Can you show some pictures?
Sanding is usually for small finishing details and what-not. It'll take you a LONG TIME to sand down 1cm worth of material.

Whoops, that's not what I meant.

It slides nicely into the emitter until that point. It doesn't go all the way in, and it becomes a pain to pull out. I'm asking if all I need is a bit of circumference sanding to make it just a bit less thick at the top.

Give a shot.
Sanding the circumference won't hurt it.
Is the plug possibly too long also?

No, the two plugs I got with this and my Apprentice are the same length, and the one I use for my Apprentice slides just fine into this emitter. It's not length. But I'll do some sanding tomorrow after school. Thanks for the input!

Hi NeBosa,

Have you seen acrylic discs on sale in Canada, in the UK there are a couple of companies that sell coin sized pieces in various diameters and thicknesses. Here in the UK they start about 21p each (42cents Canadian). Could the Covertech part be glued to one of these discs then onto the tubing?

I know exactly what you speak of and is what I pictured in mind when I even mentioned the word coloured discs lol

But for the life of me, I can't think on where I would even begin to look to find them.

Hi NeBosa,

I shall have a Google for Polycarbonate sheeting suppliers in Canada as these type of companies here usually cut the discs and sell them. Give me a few minutes and I'll see what I can find!

Have you considered using lighting gels (colored sheets used to change the color of studio and photography lights)? I've heard of color disks (like the ones TCSS sells) melting when used with SF's 12w LEDs, but lighting gel sheets can take a lot of heat. You should be able to get some at a photography shop, or even a music store that sells DJ and stage equipment like Guitar Center (not sure if they have those in Canada). I've seen four packs of 9"x 9" gels (in multiple colors) go for around $4 or $5.
