May I ask why you didn't just pay the extra 10$ to have them wrap it?
If 10$ was too expensive of a leather option… and you want a replacement for less than 10$… but you already know that any other option will look and have a shitty outcome in the majority of ideas thrown your way for items that will cost you less than 10$… How about just sending them an email and asking if they can add a wrap? Boom. Problem solved. |

If paracord gives you rope burn, you're doing something terrible wrong, especially while spinning a saber. You shouldn't be moving your hand rapidly up and down the hilt but rather letting it roll across your palm or bridge between thumb and forefinger. Besides, paracord is a very viable wrap option that's used on a LOT of sabers and other swords, knives, etc... it's a very popular wrap, and there are hundreds of different wrapping techniques.
Heat shrink is viable as well, I've seen some interesting wraps made with it, especially when placed over a cord, or O rings, or lace, as was suggested, then wrapped down with the heatshrink. It conforms to the design under it, and gives a really unique and nice grip. Tennis wrap is an option as well, sure. You can also find leather wraps on Amazon for a lot cheaper. Your choice of language is really... colorful... on your experience with the craft shop... Also, I didn't say you were BEING shitty, you stated options given to you WERE shitty. Which is rude and disrespectful to the people giving them. |

think of an colour absorbing heat and defecting it back ?
black cloth = absorb heat + gather alot of heat on the cloths, that makes the user sweat alot white Cloths = absorbs heat then defects few parts of it back where it came if it burns your hand to hold on a wrap while in the sun try use white cloth as wrap see if that helps you not burn your hand if the heat is the issue while outside on a sunny day |
