Thanks! I too would like to see all the blues in person. Clearly, the only option is to buy more lightsabers :P.

Wow, RisingRyan. I am very sorry to hear about your saber. Hopefully it will be back in full working order soon. It seems the consensus around here is that SF does a really good job with sabers being sent in. I have to say, I've never given the VF a hard look in the standard finish...and it is truly beautiful. I look forward to hearing about you and your saber being reunited and in full fury once again.

Iiiiit's baaaaack! :woohoo:
It works flawlessly. It's just as bright and beautiful as I remember. And since I seem to have melted the plastic part of my silver kill key, they sent me a new one. This one is black. I don't know if I like it better or worse. But the fun stuff happens when the kill key is out anyway. How about a picture on the coffee table?

And a close-up of the new placement of the retention screws. The movement of the blade retention screw is the cause of a bit of blade wobble until the blade is wrapped in tape.

EDIT: I looked at the blade plug with the light on for some reason. Immediately afterwards, I was thinking something along the lines of "Oh god oh god why did I do that?!?"
Interestingly enough, while I've been typing this, the spot in my vision has turned from blue with a violet/purple aura to blue with a a green aura, and now it's almost not noticeable. My eyes still hurt though.

It looks just as nice as before it left. Glad you were able to get it fixed. And your eyes will adjust to the brightness... gradually.

Ryan(dashless)Rising, This Reunion is a Happy Reunion. Congratulations with the return of your Treasure. Just remember, keep curiosity to a minimum this time around as I'd hate to read about 'Diet Coke' erupting and making a mess. ;)

And the speaker has gotten loose. It's rattling around behind the C-ring and the battery/soundboard. Should I jut try to move the C-ring up in the hilt? I don't really want to do that, because it affects the resonance and when it's that high in the hilt, and sound quality is compromised. Though as it is now, the speaker can get askew, which is worse.

Edit: I can't move the battery pack down to push it against the C-ring without breaking anything, I don't think. Any advice? Having a part rattling is really annoying, and the sound is all over the place.

Edit2: Yes, I've sent an email. However, I'm still hoping that I can get a faster answer here.

I would have never really noticed how awesome this hilt is until I looked at your pictures. This is sweet, and that black kill key looks great. Hopefully they can help you get the rattling speaker fixed.

I have a feeling you've already helped me enough with that. ;) Thanks Ryan!

Uh, for future reference*, I posted about this issue in Open Topics, and he said that he saw someone (probably DarthMario/Shameem) post about putting Velcro rolled up in between the soundboard+battery and speaker.

Okay, just made a mistake spinning my saber and cut my little finger on my left hand. It doesn't hurt that much, but it was bleeding quite a bit and I thought I'd like to make it a note that the claws are quite sharp.

Funny thing, I actually accidentally also cut my ring finger on my left hand today due to a mishap with an X-acto knife. :P Maybe I should just do my homework now. And not do anything involving scissors.

EDIT: I just realized...

I am stuck on Band-Aids

Yeah? Nah? Oh, okay.

Are you planning on sanding down the sharp edges or leaving it as is? Hope the bleeding wasn't too bad.

I've heard a lot of people talk about this but I've been afraid to sand edges down. Can this be done without harming the look of the saber?

I know it has been done before, I'm just not sure the exact steps. I'd like to know as well, since I'd like to give my weathered ASP hilt a a finish similar to Filius_Secundus.'s Consular, which he said was a mix of sanding and buffing.

The bleeding wasn't too bad. I'm fine. As for sanding it down, I could, but... naaah. It might disrupt the look of the saber. And about safety?

How would that effect the finish, Otto?

How do you think. All you have to do is lightly scuff the sharp edge, to dull it a little. Obviously if you have a weathered hilt it most likely will remove it. The point being, go at it with some precision, to minimize scratching. This is in reference to sharp edges on the emitter shroud, not for overall removal of weathering.
The effected areas aren't really going to stand out that much anyway.
