My name is Tyler and I live in Woodstock, GA with my wife and three kids. I've been a Star Wars addict since 1977! Since the early 2000's I've owned several Master Replica Sabers and Blasters but recently sold all my sabers except for a Luke Icon's to purchase Saber Forge's for the entire fam. I've got the wife's permission along with the kids agreement to do "Star Wars" for Halloween and in anticipation Ep 7 starting off with lightsaber procurements. I've been enjoying the posts and discussions, so Thanks everyone!

Hey everyone!

It's about time I made an account on the Forum here. I've been a Star Wars kid as long as I can remember, but I'm new to the saber scene. My dad and I were in the inaugural class of Tythos Ridge Saber Force Academy, and since then I've started doing some leatherwork for SaberForge. Good times.

I currently own a terribly outdated Gladius (ie it still has a 6w LED in it, gods help me) and I'm gonna be upgrading it soon... I just need to get some ideas first!

good Lord, I'm back on a Star Wars forum. You know this is how it all starts let the craziness begin again.

Anyways, I'm Pat Murphy. Some of you may know my Star Wars names, I've had a TON since about 1999. I'm a Rebel Legion, 501st, unofficial but active with them - Mandalorian Merc, and such. I've been on more Star Wars forums than I can count. I'm here to support a friend, and we'll just see where it takes us.

I'm actually quite excited to be here though. This'll be fun.

I also love how a 6w gladius is considered "outdated" I remember when 3w Lux were the bees-knees and we were stripping soundboards out of Hasbros and even Master Replicas. I was actually just talking about how "purple [was] impossible." It's amazing how much technology has grown since then.

What I can tell ya about this bunch is, that it is near impossible to spend time here WITHOUT learning something!

As for the rapid pace of developments in this little area of interest, well I'd say it keeps pace with the advancement in technology in general. New stuff happening all the time, and it does not take long to find its way to us. The LEDs are brighter, and more color combinations possible, along with things like Flash on Clash, and Pulsing. Soundboards are getting so small that sabers no longer have to be bulky to accommodate them.

It is, in a word, incredible! The best part is, everyone here feels the same way! So, dive into the conversation and share your perspective on things!
