Very modest and utilitarian style. I dig.

Nice builds Otto. I see sessions in the HotTub has returned some more creativity? ;) Unsure what the weather's like in the US for you but is there ever a time when it's not suitable HotTub-Time? Appreciating #3 & #5.

It's been a while since I've ventured up this part of the Forum but here's one I plucked from my Archives Folder and Ordered but events saw it returned and it went back into Archives' Sub Folder, Deferred for revisiting.

Megalodon.
A long mammoth Hilt that used two couplers and two Body Sections with the coupler between Bodies drilled in the recessed accents for sound venting. It also included an interchangeable Vengeance Emitter cos (for me) it resembled the subject reference with its side gills.

:)

Megalodon, what a beast! The hot tub is prime season right now, since winter is right around the corner. Summer time I turn the heat off and it serves as a 500 gallon bowl of chill. Putting a list together for a potential ASP order after the new year. Hilts first and electronics later.

My homage to the Rebel Alliance, inspired by our old English friend ForTyeth's Dameron design.

Want to add a single Graflex pin to each black recessed area on the emitter.

I like the Weathered switch, and black control box. Just not the stock switch card.
Juggernaut body w/orange wrap that I plan to weather the Blaze ORANGE alittle, and a brass covertech knob to finish it off.

I'm sure many Graflex purist will have something to say about this one.

Again, I like the black accents incorporated into this weathered version.

Unfortunately I can't make up my mind on the finish for the body. :pinch:

My though for this particular setup is based on the premise that Rey might go to the dark side. Or it becomes the property of Kylo and becomes tarnished with the DarkSide.

Looks almost just like a dark pseudo-graflex I've been putting together. Just waiting on an adapter, they accidentally sent me a M/F Redeemer switch instead of the normal M/M. Then I'll order and install the guts.

Not I; a dark side graflex is one of my dream hilts

Personally, I'd vote for the weathered one. I think SF's weathering looks really good on parts with lots of spaces like that.

I love the look of a dark graflex. Makes me think of the alternate reality, where Luke succumbed to the dark side, and designed his saber with attributes to honor his father, rather than one of his mentors (Obi-Wan).
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....

After I got my first good look at an ASP saber, and then decided to put together a stunt to get a feel for it, I got to looking around the store at the parts and at the saber builder, and once I saw that the Graflex came in a black version, I just had to do one.

Maybe my version is a "what if" Anakin/Darth Vader had won on Mustafar. Maybe it's a "what if" Luke had gone to the dark side. Maybe it's just a similar design from the thousands of years of Jedi (or Sith, since it's also got a red day blade) who came before.

All I know is that I really like how it looks. Iconic and yet strikingly different. Plus, with the ASP construction and the timing shims, I can have a Graflex type hilt with the control box in a more sensible location (for me, at least), AND keep the basic look of it while tinkering with components that I like better (the Sorcerer body instead of the Graflex, the Redeemer switch in place of the Graflex), but that still resemble the "proper" parts.

Speaking of my "testing the waters" stunt saber:

@shade_1313 Sweet hilt design, the all black version is menacing. Post picks when you're done plz.
@Borom, I was leaning towards the weathered, to be honest. The finish can be altered, because I'm trying to incorporate the same part across multiple builds. Box full of parts to make many different hilts.
@Brax, I like your theory of a different StarWars universe timeline.

Hi, just ordered my first ASP saber Saturday so it's not here yet but I do have the pictures from the designer!

Hopefully it looks this good once I assemble it!

I'm putting this together for my son, for Christmas, it'll be his first saber with sound.

I already have the emitter, switch section, and pommel, and just ordered the body (it was out of stock when I ordered the first set of parts), the switch, and the Med. Blue LED. Soon I'll order the blade and Champion setup for it.

It's the Exile emitter, 09 switch, 10 body, and Epoch pommel. 26" blade and medium blue LED.

My dark pseudo-graflex, all together minus the electronics.

Now, I know that the placement of the control box and covertec are a little unorthodox, but a lot of testing and messing with the timing shims have them in the ideal spot for my grip.

Parts used: Graflex emitter (duh), coupler 1 m/f (I wanted a little more room on the saber for my hand), Redeemer switch, Sorcerer body and pommel. Everything in black. Probably going to get a deep red LED and the Champion setup, plus another blade for when I don't feel like going with a day blade.
