Two things I've realized: Apparently, I like the Rebel pommel and copper.
 Here is another of my saber designs. I have seen very similar designs on the forum. The parts just look good together, so I get it.Again, no name yet.

justanartist, I'm loving your finish ideas. It's unfortunate that SF offers so many finish choices now, but seem to be unyielding towards these types of specifics. I'd be willing to pay a little extra for labor to remove a shroud and a little piece of heat tape to achieve this type of look. Custom shop is always an option I suppose, but its so difficult to communicate with them.

Thanks Ottomatix. Well, it never hurts to email Customs I suppose. That's all I did. It took about a week for them to get back to me, but I felt like they gave me good info.

Ha ha. Not bad. I think I could see it more if I used the Mauler switch piece with its red greeblies. Just because of the parts, I jokingly thought about Sorcerer's Apprentice; the ASP emitter is from Obi-wan's "padawan (apprentice)" hilt and it's the sorcerer ASP body. Plus, SW is now owned by Disney. |

Well, d@mn. I just received one of my two saber orders. It was supposed to look like the picture in my post in this thread (72334) but they sent the whole thing in black. I get that mistakes happen, but I was explicit about the order twice. When placing the order on 02/10, there was still the problem with the pull down menu for the switch sections. There was no menu. In the order notes, I noted the problem and requested a black switch. I received an email on 02/13 saying I didn't put a finish selection for the switch. I explained I noted it in the order notes because of the problem, and restated the whole order to be clear and to avoid this happening. It still happened. I've emailed SF about how to proceed. I asked that since I have to pay to ship it back, would they be willing to kick in a free blade plug 04 as compensation. They even honored my request for items in the free gifts for an SF elite brass blade plug and Phoenix saber stand and correct day blade so I know they read the notes! Just a little disappointed right now. My (expensive) toy is wrong. (I know, waaaaah, first world problems)
 I'm going to send another email about the 2nd order just to make sure they follow my request to leave the base rings of the Resilient emitter black (dual tone ordered) so it properly matches my other shoto saber. Thanks for listening.

wamphyri13 sorry to hear this news. I hope that they take care of you, because you made every effort to clarify your order. I personally have order only through the custom shop and the ability to receive validation was nice.I hope this snafu gets resolved.

So here's my newest. I first made and bought this shoto
Resilient emitter in dual tone w/base rings left black switch 9 in black Katana body short in black Redeemer pommel standard brushed Amber Warrior 
Then I had a second one made but had to use switch 10 in black because switch 9 is sold out, also an Amber Warrior 
And thanks to Ottomatix for giving me the idea to use a switch section as a coupler. I used a Resilient switch because the silver sections at the ends are almost a perfect match for Redeemer pommels, so when connected as a staff, it still looks the same. I present to you, The Night Guard 
I ordered 2 silver switches from dripp3d to fill in the holes in the coupler switch. They're on the way. |

Thing is, the switch section naturally fits the way I DON'T want it to go. It's fine though, some rubber washers can fix it. Next order: Vengeance Emitter (possibly deep red led too) |

I still think it will look good, even more so with this possible new Deep Red LED. Regarding the alignment of your switch section, depending on how brave you are you could always try sanding the parts as shown in Rob "Madcow" Petkau's YouTube video. Nice solid looking designs you have there. Sorry I didn't see these earlier, I have been busy with another project and this thread doesn't get many posts so goes under the radar sometimes! I've designed a few sabers but I don't use the Fallen pommel very often as it looks a bit small (to my eyes) but it works well with Body 6. I will have to take another look at it now. Hope you get them built, I'd look forward to seeing them. For Tyeth |

That is fantastic news, it's great to see that SF seem to be on top of their delivery schedules...that means more sabers for all of you! Hopefully I may be able to share some pictures too next week as I hope to meet Bossk himself (or at least the fine gentleman that portrayed him, Mr Alan Harris!) at a Con I'm hoping to get to.
